The /vg/ general is dead because (asides the fact the scene is in turmoil and there's no new game to jerk over) some frogposting twat keeps duplicating posts and responding to idiots that fall for it and mods gave up on trying to keep the discussion free of shitposting.
Instead, in one thread, they exposed that the autist is deranged samefaggot that tried to replace the general with one focused on the new game with him samefagging the entire thread with noone absolutely not caring about the stream event for the current game.

The faggot eventually got more productive and made a twitter account (with the ESAM w*jak) that reports on the current corruption that's happening on the competitive Smash scene.
Sounds good? Unfortunately, the asshole still comes back to the general to do the same routune shit.

As a result, the prominent posters either stuck to the hellhole that is /v/ or joined up with the furfags that are bunkering at the multiplayer board.

This was possibly a result of all the attempted seizure by discordfaggots failing, so a bore retard came and just simply shat the place up. Similar shit has happened to places like the Mega Man general where some ugly /dbs/-/sthg/ hybrid of a shitter spammed the same so hard, nobody uses /vg/ for a couple of years until later.

If you want to compete, Dream Land is the only legal stage. Get good at platform movement. Remember that you can shield drop the easiest in this game since there's no spotdodging. Practice L-cancelling, platform cancelling, and your character's combos (since most of them have zero-to-deaths), as well as your recovery strats since edgeguarding is very powerful due to most recoveries being trash. Unlike the other games, shorthopping is analogue, so get good at doing it with the control stick.
