Majority of people have troubles with navigation, so this subgenre is not for them. Doesn't help that modern gamers expect quest arrows, even GBA Metroids caved and added those.

Super Metroid hacks are better than the original. If you haven't played the 5 star hacks on Metroid Construction you're missing out.

You okay bud? Super Metroid isn’t the only game in the genre. If anything, Castlevania is more influential toward modern gaming than Metroid. People don’t give two shits about Super Metroid anymore.
