Which version of Shadowrun is better? SNES or Genesis?
Anonymous No.12009257
I, too, would like to know. I know they're completely different but which one is THEE Shadowrun?

The SNES game is an RPG adventure loosely based on a Shadowrun novel. The Genesis game is a sandbox RPG set in the Shadowrun world with Shadowrun rules. I prefer the latter. Better combat, better spells, better matrix, and you can actually shadowrun to your heart's content.

Genesis has infinitely more depth and has the better soundtrack. SNES version is pretty cool for the story and atmosphere but isn't as replayable.
I was super hyped when i found out Shadowrun Returns brought back the composers for both games.

I prefer the Genesis version but I also like the SNES version. They both weirdly feel like pc games that ended up on consoles somehow.

They're different games. You can't directly compare them.

What other games have an open world with an integrated hacking system that affects things like elevators, security cameras, etc? The Genesis version was truly ahead of its time.

If ShadowRun had 5th gen console releases, what would they been like?

diablo garbage if it was late in the gen
earlier it would stand a chance of being decent. The only people that gave a shit about tabletop-CRPG convergence by the mid-late '90s were entirely PC centric and didn't think at all in terms of controller interfaces.

Compare Tetris and Doom then.

Different games, like a lot oddly. I enjoy both. Can't pick a fav but I lean to Sega.
