Reccomend me some good anime games for the SNES, Genesis and PS1. Must have an NA release.

>Must have an NA release
Why this condition? Most anime games never left Japan.
For SNES, DBZ Super Butoden 2 is one of the most beloved, and it almost got an American release (mostly thought for latin america) around 1996, but got cancelled.

Language barrier plus they wouldn't work on American systems

Well many of the anime games of that gen are action games like beat em ups or fighters
You can also still play JP on an american SNES if you switch cases, the actual PCB works no either system. You will need a gamebit though. Or just get a SFC.

NA releases?

>SNES
Just Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle.
Street Combat was originally another earlier Ranma game.
>Genesis
Nothing retained it's anime license over here.
Last Battle was originally a Fist of the North Star (2) game. Mystic Defender was a Peacock King game.
>PS1
Dragon Ball GT Final Bout, Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 22, Gundam Battle Assault 1&2, Samurai Deeper Kyo, and Inuyasha A Feudal Fairy Tale.

Most licensed anime games are pretty import friendly. So just find a way to play those.

.....or, you could just, remove the fucking (plastic) tabs inside your SNES, and voila, both US and Japan used NTSC anyways, and all the lies about japanese imports fucking up your system were just that, lies, because PIRACY BAD or something.

But unfortunately, NO ONE could figure that out for some stupid reason so they actually went and butcher good Super Famicom carts like this, I saw a few of this over the years since the mid 2000s, the first one being a japanese Super Mario Kart, then a couple of Super Butoden 2 and Turtles in Time carts once on a shitty Mexican convention where there was mostly chink bootlegs and some American products, it's a shame, and I am not a coomlector.

Speaking off, when I was young and around that time, I saw a couple of Butoden 3 bootleg cheap carts, but I rarely saw a Butoden 2 cart, my cousin and I used to play Butoden 3 on 98, but got bored quite quickly because of how anemic that game was, and I was a BIG Dragonball guy at the time

I have a lot of nostalgia for it but even back then I noticed it wasn't nearly as good as the SNES and MD games. Shin butoden was a chance to make it good but they fucked it up too.
The only 5th gen DBZ game I find fun to play is Legends.

Gundam Wing: Endless Duel is the only one I've ever gotten into. I guess it probably didn't have an official NA release, but it certainly had an unofficial release from the Internet into my emulator, and I don't remember there being any obstructive Japanese text in it, so there you go, should work fine for you

Why does every single one of those games have anime girls in it? Also, the best shmup on the Genesis is Thunder Force IV which coincidentally is the best shmup of all time.

Legends it's only BARELY bearable on Saturn because of the better sound design due to the sound samples, but it's the same barely playable garbage, attacks and ki blast that just do CHIP (shit) damage, like sweet Christ, I know they wanted the game to last but I could barely sit trough the Saiyan fight when I emulated this thing.

Cold but Blunt take, Dragonball games were NEVER objectively GOOD good up until the 2000s, and even then only a small handful were actually genuinely good, and even those had their sins or quirks, and you can probably count them with one hand, I did.

Budokai 3
Super DragonBall Z
Advance Adventure
Sparking Meteor/Tenkaichi 3
Supersonic Warriors 2

the music and flair of this game is super charming. but the gameplay is so weird.

the 2nd one plays better, but isn't as charming, especially the music.

I actually really enjoyed butoden 2&3, buuyuu retsuden and hyper dimension. They were doing good but fucked up during 5th gen.

>Why does every single one of those games have anime girls in it?
The bishoujo/moe factor. Almost everyone likes cute girls, and unlike in the US japanese players don't give a shit if what they enjoy is or looks unmanly, nor are they conditioned by puritan roots that demonize sex.

I.e. Japanese boomer parents weren't thinking "oh no, our little Takeshi might see a girl and turn gay, better gift him this game full of shirtless bodybuilders!"

Same reasoning for things like pic related and the shitty western covers a lot of japanese games got in the West until the late 90s.

Japan is full of cute shit, even back then. There's no use worrying about that when you just look at the walls of some staircase or a town mascot and see a cute girl or animal or something

hey we know you turned into a faggot because your parent only bought you "manly" games full of muscular men's in underpants and told you "this is manly".
At least japanese games tell you "hey faggotry is evil, most villains are faggots".
