NFS3/4 for better driving mechanics? PS1. It has shit framerates though. PC is very arcadey, but I like it very much. Drive only manual, though. AT makes some cars unusable, because of shitty 4-gear trannies. I learned this wayy too late. Also use a gamepad with analogue triggers. Makes the world of a difference, but is not required.
PC version has that late 90s aesthetic to a T if that's important to you. PS1 UX feels more clunky. The career mode of the PC verison is really good. Cockpit cameras as a bonus. 4's are 3D modeled. 3's 2D. Debatable what is better. NFS 4 has all the tracks of NFS3 as unlockables. Which makes the game pretty hefty in content. The relative lack of cars is mended by mods.
NFS Porsch only PC. It's made by the PS1 NFS guys and it shows. Lots of A to B type of tracks, but some real goodness there. Makes races a bit short with faster cars though.
2 innovative career modes. Get a save with all cars unlocked/bought, because you will miss out on some. Excellent game, but my heart yearns for them High Stakes vibes. Better UI, better music, better tracks (imo), more nostalgia (NFS Porsche was a bitch to run somehow for me)
