in hindsight it's funny how bad the 32X and Saturn were

St.Bernard, this world was not ready for your greatness. The cretins responsible for the libel, slander and straight up ishkabibble that dirtied your holy name are but a reddit drones incessant kvetching. Let you be held high above the clatter and be sat next to St.Moigle and St.Hoigle in Dreamcast heaven.

The Saturn wasn't bad, it only did poorly outside of Japan because of how badly it was handled plus the 32X (SoA's idea) making Sega look bad
It did decently in Japan without SoA being there to fuck things up

Sega sold their soul to Hitachi.

SoA was laughably bad at supporting the Saturn but SoJ also didn't do (or couldn't do) much to maintain high sales after the VF boom.
The production value of the games didn't improve much over time. Such a cursed hardware.

No, good games, but it was bad. Frankenstein of a machine that was impossible to develop for.

Then how come a lot of multiplats are better on Saturn than on PS1?

2D games, maybe. I meant 3D, which is what most people cared about.

Powerslave is a good example. It was a technical marvel on the Saturn, yet the main programmer loathes the hardware.

PSO was fun for like a week. Crazy taxi was kinda fun, I guess.

PS2 came out a bit later and I saved for that.

Basically, the everdrive is a sd cart based cartridge. You still play it on a standard system. However, the program is run off of an sd card. you put all the rom files of the games you want on the SD and then stick that into the everdrive. They've made master system, 64, super nintendo, and genesis (or megadrive for you yuropoors)
It seems like a neat idea, but they're expensive as fuck. Just the board is usually 100+ and they charge you for every little addon like a USB port, bigger SD, different case, different chip (for region encoding) and all kinds of shit. Pic related, base price on this is about 160 USD.

My mom threw away my sega master system II with one of my all time favorite nostalgia games Alex the Kid in wonderland (iir the name correctly).
I was pissed but got over it since she couldn't know how important it was to me, but damn it, I miss it.
