I just can't Anon. Even for it's time, the gameplay is too shit.

I hope someday an indie dev combines Streets of Rage's combat with Splatterhouse's art design - they'll make a fucking fortune.

Splatterhouse 1 > Splatterhouse 2 > Splatterhouse reboot > Splatterhouse 3

I just finished the first one for Turbo grafix 16(emulated on PSP) and I loved it, the last stage was a pain in the ass to finish but gave a real statisfaction.
now moving on the sequels for MD.
Any tips and trick?

The final level of the first Splatterhouse isn't too bad compared to the organic house. Just advance little by little since everything triggers upon screen scrolling. The second game is more of the same of the first when it comes to game mechanics. Bunch of new cool bosses. For the third game if you play the English release, be aware they altered damage values for your standard combo attack and reduced its damage from the JP version. On the other hand the spinning roundhouse kick got a damage buff in the EN iteration, so you'll probably end up using it a lot. Also route your way through the house, you have a limited time to beat a level to attempt to attain the good ending.

No, but perhaps I should.

The arcade version of 1 has creepy, grotesque graphics and music that aren't matched by MD 2 or 3.

As one of the five people in North America who owned a TG-16 in the 90's Splatterhouse was a point of pride because it was an awesome exclusive. Me and all my friends were into the cheesy 80's horror franchises and it had kind of the same vibe. I felt mildly betrayed when the sequels wound up on the Genesis
Anonymous No.12082761 [Report]
Splatterhouse is the only arcade game I liked enough to 1cc. Unbeatable vibe.

There are probably thousands of indie landfill slop games being pumped out on Steam every day that are what you just described.

Thanks for the tips anon. I'll look into the 3 version to ply when i'll get there.
n the last stage of the first it was one of the few times i used a save state, not because is hard like you said I noticed after the third try that you have to walk to trigger stuff, after all those triggers and learned the jump pattern etc etc I saved before the boss.

I beat it earlier this year. but hey what the hell.

Haven't played it in a while, but I have it on my PS4(arcade game only), on the Switch(Namco Arcade Pac), unlockable with both my copies of Splatterhouse(2010) on the PS3 and Xbox 360, I got the PC version of the game on disc, as well as being able to play these games on my PC via emulation and on my Genesis mini(PC Engine version of Splatterhouse 1, then the Genesis roms of Splatterhouse 2 and 3). I've always enjoyed these games.

i really tried to like splatterhouse 2 because its theme and aesthetic are awesome but man the game just isn't fun to me. I hate how stubby your attacks are and the floatyness of the controls ruins it

I played "co-op" with a guy on fightcade last year and following his strategies I was able to make it to the level with the bubbles full of monsters spawning all around. It felt too rng for me to handle and I gave up there. He actually beat the game which was sick.
Awesome game though. Really sweet. One of my favorites. I need to figure out some good strategies though because like that first boss with the slugs I always have to take ONE hit.

I've only ever played 2 and 3 but I plan on playing 1 some day on PC-E

I enjoyed the routing aspect of 3, making a map and writing down the best/fastest paths along the way to get the good ending, but combat is retarded once you realized it's all about spamming a single OP move
Anonymous No.12090217 [Report]
oh and I played Wanpaku Graffiti too, that's a fun one

Play jp 3 where the spin kick is a weak space clearing move and not an ultimate attack.

No, I'm playing Serious Sam.
Is the xbox 360 splatterhouse worth playing? Also why is Splatterhouse 3's time limit so stringent?

Hell yea, it worth to play remake. It even including 3 original games.

Splatterhouse 3 for me was the worst one of them all: the stages are annoying mazes and also there are a time limit.

I don't think it would have been so bad if they didn't change the NA version so you only spam spinning roundhouse.
