That was the first way I ever played chess. Was on either Apple II or an '80s IBM. Nice nostalgia hit.

Battle Chess was one of the most iconic games of its time.

Fact: you had a computer in the late 80's/early 90's, you played Battle Chess.

I've put many hours into the NES version. I find it more fun than playing the actual board game.

The AI wasn't exceptional even for the time. Sargon was much better. OTOH, Battle Chess was kind of for kids and the slightly worse AI wasn't a big deal.

Super battleship on SNES was awesome and I'm not sorry about it.
I'd love another game like it.

I really still find this charming and accessible in even if it's an absolutely terrible way to play it

Kind of makes me wish they did "The Game Of Life" for 8 and 16 bit consoles or hell, even Candyland

I remember it being part of cereal prize along with Operation in the early 00's. Really fun and atmospheric

The DOS version of 1830 was a pretty obscure game from Simtex (the makers of MoO 1). But if you liked that kind of thing it was a lot of fun. The AI was decent and you could finish a game that would take at least 4 hours in the real world in maybe 40 minutes on the PC.

Same here, except the NES version. It's what introduced me to the auction rule, and taught me to make good use of mortgages to secure more property early.
