I finally beat it last year anon. It felt great. Although I will admit after dying on Dracula and seeing where I spawned really was a kick in the nuts.

You're not supposed to beat most NES games. Almsot no one did that back then. They'd get stuck and maybe come back to it later. They weren't in a hurry because they weren't getting another until xmas or >:(BIRTH>:(day

Well you were right. This is not a good game. They turned the sub weapons into collectables for lore reasons and you cannot use them. The boss abilities are very bland and the god mode trivializes boss fights. I beat Alucard and quit. Is not fun. So many tanky enemies too.

I am trying all the og Gameboy games. Going to start Adventures now.

If you're playing the US release then do as these guys are saying. Like many NES games, this one had the difficulty arbitrarily jacked up to fuck with the rental market, and Nintendo of America wouldn't allow publishers to release carts with chips that Nintendo didn't manufacture so Konami couldn't include their own VRC6 chip that allowed for better sound.

If you can't deal with the slowdown on Adventure, try the (colorized) Konami GB Collection Vol 1 version of it. It doesn't get rid of all the slowdown, but I think it does make the movement feel closer to the console vanias.
