Why do the keys dissappear when you turn them?

the locks have molten cores to prevent picking so the keys get melted after use.

They're quantum and it's revealed they only work in the one lock you use them on. Link throws them away since they're now useless.

Zelda 2 Link is powered by heterosexual attraction to Princess Zelda, Dark Link is a nihilistic chud with a wicked sense of humor.

Each key is unique for each door, you just happen to use them on the correct door and in the correct order 100% of the time. The order can be random so if you use them in a different sequence on different playthroughs(or even if you reload a save) and they work it means the keys changed.

Because the dummy who made Zelda 1 used "keys" instead of "lockpicks" to be original without thinking about the consequences.
Anonymous No.12139128 [Report]
>>12139125
Lockpicks would make sense in Zelda 1 because they work in any dungeon but later games they don't carry over
Anonymous No.12139316 [Report]
the locked doors in oot were originally sealed off with ganon/gerudo curse runes instead, so they might have been considering that aspect

I kind of wish zelda games had a home depot in towns where you can have keys made with your full wallet that you have nothing to spend all your money on

Thats called The Legend of Zelda
>your full wallet that you have nothing to spend all your money on
although your wallet wont be full in this game.

there's also the fact that to use the bow you have to find what is apparently a fletching kit that uses rupees as arrowheads

What, you think one key opens all doors? If you explored someone's house as a dungeon, would a single key open the front door, the car, security box, etc.?

>What, you think one key opens all doors?
In Zelda, this has actually always been the case. In Zelda 1 you could buy extra keys in shops and use them on any locked door in any dungeon. Later games made it so that you could only use keys within the dungeon they came from, but within any given dungeon all the small keys are completely interchangeable.

There's a tool that lets you customize OoT and with some settings you can actually make money useful
For example you can increase the damage you take from everything, disable heart drops, and make it so you can't bottle fairies, so you have to heal with milk and potions. You can even change how much milk heals if you feel it's too powerful because it's free and make purchasing potions more desirable
Hell, with some other settings you could even make it so you'd want to purchase arrows and stuff

my lasst few playthroughs (randomizer included) i turned off random drops from enemies and grass, it was only pots with pre-determined dev loot remaining (sometimes big ninty would make sure arrows dropped from pots before an arrow boss, etc)
never hovered over max rupee wealth in those playthroughs, like the base game. i was buyin' shit

Nice
It's crazy how the game has every element to make rupees useful but they just decided to release it in easy mode. Glad we have tools to make it interesting now

i really do wish devs had the foresight to put in the effort for difficulty modes, when it comes to retro games like ocarina of time
what good is a new engine pioneering the craft, when all you offer is shitty easy mode where the nuance doesn't matter? it's a real shame

it's probably just so you can fully explore the dungeon if you use a key too early. there's something like that in level 3 of link's awakening.

Huh, that’s how it works in the video game. But that’s not how it works in real life! Why does Mario get big when he touches the mushroom? I’m going to make a thread about it.

Even without the grass and enemy drops the game is still baby mode. If you require an item or arrows to get through a certain section they will litter the place with pots that contain the item you need.
