did you know that where the x is normally in ads, they're now redirecting you to the ad page? but only in fullscreen, if you're browsing outside of fullscreen you can still x off it (for now anyway)

Channels can opt out of this. Most retro enthusiast creators will probably disable it. Bandicam videos from 2007 can only benefit from this.

I used the official app for the first time in years the other day and was appalled. >full screen ad on launch >close it >homescreen 80% taken up by ads >start scrolling >1 real video >a full screen of shorts >2 sponsored videos (ads) >2 real videos >another actual ad >3 sponsored videos (ads) >another full page of shorts >2 real videos >repeat all the way down
How the fuck do people use this?

I remember back when pop-ups were a thing, every normalfag under the sun was so annoyed by them that they became the subject of countless jokes in movies, but of course that was when the internet was new and they hadn't yet managed to brainwash nearly the entire population into accepting it.

Even if you use a working adblocker on the full desktop site, the layout is still user hostile, and they're constantly changing the UI just for the sake of change (which is always for the worse). I think I have like three or four browser addons just to make youtube remotely useable again.

because you aren't a casual and enjoy watching skilled replays of arcade games, fighting game tournaments, frag movies, and other random fun video game videos.

I have a dns ad blocker so I’ve never seen how bad it is. The internet is unbearable without at least two layers of adblockers. I can’t even use twitch anymore because the player refuses to load with the mix of adblockers I use. Oh well, fuck off. I won’t watch your faggot streamers.

I like watching my friends play games that I've either already played myself and liked so much that I wish to see my friends experience or games I'm slightly curious about, but not curious enough to bother playing.
Is that cringe?
