Jaleco games are pretty solid and it looks like they worked out a deal to do one per season.

OK, AI transcription is still shit. It didn't even manage to get a full minute worth of dialogue out, skipping over nearly 20 seconds of talking for no apparent reason. Glad I found out in the very first minute of the 9 hour Quest of Ki live special I was going to attempt to subtitle, instead of days or weeks into it. Looks like I'm still limited to whatever episodes have Japanese closed captioning files available.

C list comedian who doesn't like video games is forced to play them for a living. An LP as suffering.

I think he does like video games, but he's not hardcore into them. He talks about playing Switch games all the time in between shooting.

Super stoked that this EOP can enjoy the RE2 special. Based Scouts.

Been watching S26 start to end recently, really enjoying it. I decided to try Contra 3 ahead of the episode, holy cow how is Arino going to handle this one?

Oh nice. They seem to have a deal to do one Jaleco game a season, so I hope they tackle the rest of the SFC titles:

>Dead Dance (Hey Punk! Are You Tuff E Nuff?
>The Ignition Factor
>Ikari no Yōsai (Operation Logic Bomb)

Not in the sense that he'd get fired or actually demoted other than from his pretend rank, but the whole comedic premise of the show is that he has to play these games they give him, so the word "forced" is fine in that silly context.
Anonymous No.12157468 [Report]

In some of the earlier seasons he seemed to 'give up' more often, now he likes to stick it out to the end (or they thought it was better for viewership). I'm also glad they're happy to do more two-parters for tough/long games rather than just fail him.

are sony pictures notorious holdouts who refused to license to GCCX in the past? or are you imagining a mundane collaboration between three companies who don't compete with each other is some kind of "nintendo playstation" untouchable artifact?

man I appreciate the subs but it seems like these big popular PSX games are just the worst picks for this show. The MGS episode was pretty boring too.

I think it's the way that they edit them too - they seem to want to include ALL of the cutscenes like it's a movie or something.

They only rarely do licensed games since you need to get rights from both the game's publisher and the rights of the IP holder. In this case there's THREE groups you need to contact, and it's likely more work than it's worth to negotiate with all of them. These eps also don't get to be DVD/BR special episodes either.

Klonoa was the worst because of this -- it felt more like Arino spend most of his time watching cutscenes than playing the game, a game in which the story is super secondary.

I didn't mind this one, but partly because I'm a big RE fan. I agree that the more story heavy games like this aren't as good in general though.
Having said that, it's kind of cool watching someone play the game 'fresh' like Arino. Doing things like fighting the first licker with the pistol instead of just running past it like most players would. Same for Mr X.
His genuine fear playing with Sherri and not having any weapons was fun too.
The cast antics were pretty amusing, watching them try to act like zombies and not break, or Abe talking about how hot Sherri is in RE6 was a laugh too.
Anonymous No.12161436 [Report]
>>12161430
Yeah the zombie bringing him lunch was a good little gag, and in the first 30 minutes I was actually telling a friend of mine how good it was to see someone play RE2 actually blind. Usually even if you find a new player on twitch their chat is just packed with dickheads telling them everything.
