the music does a tremendous amount of heavy lifting in TES games. one of the main factors making TES games so comfy.

Oblivion sounds great and has a lovely soundtrack. So it creates unforgettable vibes.
But the game kind of sucks ass. The world is boring, though not for the reasons listed by brainlets ("it is generic" -it isn't, nothing looks like Oblivion). Everything radiates out from the Imperial City in a really artificial feeling way.

Beating Dremora up and down a room with hand-to-hand while they fall over repeatedly never got old to me, I'd just use Illusion to subdue the non-humanoid Daedra and knock the rest of them around the place. I never got tired of Oblivion gates, I was actually disappointed when I ran out of them last time through.
Heard they got rid of stamina damage from fists in the remake, instant dealbreaker for me.
