Titanic Mystery: Ao no Senritsu (NES) english translation
>Titanic Mystery: Ao no Senritsu" is an action-adventure game on the Famicom Disk System. In this game, you're a CEO of a company in charge of raising the RMS Titanic from its resting place. Select one of three divers (whichever you choose has no effect on the game) and dive into the Titanic wreckage to pull out artifacts which you can sell to investors while, at the same time, find a way to raise the doomed ship from its oceanic grave.

I played through Diver's Dream on the PSX last year, this reminds me a lot of that

>The translation patch comes with a fan-translated instruction manual, which also contains a small manga backstory. (Warning, the manga has a brief nude shower scene.)

This wording is funny because it implies that there's no gameplay difference but at least they look different or something. But no, the wording is very literal. It has no effect on the game. The choice is a complete psyop. No matter who you pick you play as >>12159709 anyway.

This is a port of a C64 game (which is why it says Activision on the title screen; they made the original), so its not entirely new to the English speaking world. The Famicom version is fairly different though, so its nice to see it get translated. I would not say this game is particularly fun. The brunt of it is exploring a maze on a timer. I have to give it points for originality, though. Exploring a shipwreck as a diver is a fairly novel concept for a video game. Also the game has some bonkers twists I don't want to spoil. It gets pretty out there.

SHIGGYDIGGY

The hacker is one of the few who still cares about Famicom translations when everyone else is following the current 5th gen trends

I swear that this post was actualy made by the Famidaily guy as a teaser for his FDS game overwiev series, because when he got around making a vid about this game, he basicly parroted about 90% of that was said in that thread.

I mean maybe. Then again, that's surface level, factually true information about the game. You wouldn't have to rack your brain for very long to come up with that.

Can someone tell me what ever happened with the Romhacking site? So last I heard the owner was trying to sell it or just give up control for whatever reason and then the people that were going to take over seemed ok. Then what happened? Did the original owner not sell it in the end? I don't see anything on the site.

My understanding is that the romhacking.net owner said he was gonna "freeze" the site in 2024 because the site was getting ddos'd(?) by bad actors, not allowing new submissions but keeping the site up. I might be getting some of those details wrong. But recently they decided to keep it up and operate as normal. I was confused by the situation as well.
