What is the best arcade Gradius game?

I say arcade only because I want it known that I'm talking about ARCADE Gradius III here not the SNES version which is basically a different game, and also because I know that V and Gaiden would sweep if console games were available

Gradius 1 and 2 are fun and fair but I think Gradius 3 ironically takes the series to the next level by being fucking batshit insane and unfair
Gradius 3 is a game you can play for 100+ hours and still not be good enough to 1cc it
For better or worse it has insane longevity. Also, the type select and weapon edit are cool.
Overall I think the best in the series might be Parodius Da!, it takes Gradius 3 but makes it a little more palatable to players who don't necessarily want their cock and balls tortured. Gokujou feels a little too samey. Sexy Parodius is an excellent game in its own right but is also insane in different ways than Gradius 3.

All of them are fucking hard desu, 4 isn't much easier than 3 and 2 will get as hard 3 by loop 2 or 3.

I like the Gradius III snes but they should've included more diffculty options, you pretty much have to loop the game for it to get interesting.

Yeah Parodius Da is a lot harder than Gradius 1 and 2 but it's easier than 3 and more importantly, shorter. It's a very happy middle ground.
