Wario Land II or 3?
Which "Invincible Wario" game do (you) like better? I remembered 3 being head and shoulders above II for some reason, but having replayed both back to back recently they kinda seem on par for me now, with different strengths.

Same as you anon, both are great games being neatly designed as portable adventures and fulfilling their role very well.

People just shit on 3 because it's the popular thing to do (or got filtered)

Wario Land 3 is great overall, but the structure loses its novelty soon and then you realize how limited the game really is, with most of the perceived length coming from constantly combing the same places looking for new things to do. Wario Land II has less variety but much more objective "content", and the branching story paths are nice idea. It's also pretty lame how in 3 you need to actually unlock abilities that you had from the beginning in II.

Also it's just a matter of opinion but the enemy designs in 3 are very simplistic and weird in a boring sort of way; they clearly invested most of their resources on Wario and his great animations.

On a comparative plus, the Golf minigame if fucking great and never feels like a chore, unlike the WLII minigames.

I like 2 way more

I love both games to death, but I prefer 2 because 3 only has one new power up (that you only use 1 time) and the different paths and bosses you have in 2

Yep, same. I see 2 and 3 as equals. Honestly I see 1 as being on par with them as well. Nowadays they're just pretty standard, average platformers.
