The dragon boss fight was bullshit. I ended up baiting it into doing the same attack over and over again because the hitboxing and attack signalling is so shit.
I didn't fight Letho. I wanted to see that nigger die more than anything but I just couldn't bear another boss fight with this game's fuckarse combat system.
I will play 3 eventually regardless but I just need to know that it makes up for all the rubbish in 1 and 2.
So, /vrpg/? Lift my spirits.

>ability to cast a spell and avoid all damage
it sounds like you suck at video games. Witcher may be a little too spicy for you.

I used both features. Was I just levelling wrong or something? I never levelled alchemy and hardly used/made any potions.

Nta.It depends really, but witcher 2 isn't really that game were you can fuck up in terms of build, full melee with qwen is all you need to turn it into a cake walk. I will also assume you played on "le dark" difficulty, because i can't imagine anyone having trouble in "interactive film 2" otherwise, i would say that, aside of plot and my personal bais towards some characters, witcher 2 is probably the worst game in series. Saskia is one of the worst designed fights in action games i have ever seen so i won't judge you for that.

I didn't even know you could do a non-melee build but yeah, what you described was pretty much what I was using for the last few hours of gameplay.
>difficulty
I played on normal. I guess I just suck, I dunno.
Maybe I'm just more used to Souls combat where you have to watch for the attack indications.

Witcher 3 is on a different level entirely, and hardly comparable to the first two games. They learned all their lessons, and got everything right.

This game is really hard if you don't make the build they wanted you to make and not in a good way either. It's still a bugfest. The "trap it with Yrden" and the dragon fights really make me not want to play this ever again even though I'm planning a replay of 1 and 2 to have a save for 3. You did well by sparing Letho. He's helped Geralt in the past in indirect manners. Wanting to kill him makes you non neutral which contradicts the Witcher way.

I distinctly remember reading that you needed a specific ability in one specific brand of the skill tree to make the dragon fight a triviality. More than it being hard, I'd say the game plays against you, in a way
