Undeground JRPG

I have barely ever encountered anyone who has even tried Metal Walker for the GBC. It won't blow you away, but it's a very cool little sci-fi themed jrpg with a battle system that's a little like pool where you knock your robot into enemy robots. Definitely worth checking out.

People seem to hate it here, and I'm probably gonna get shit for it, but the Laxius Power series.

One of my all time favourite series, it makes me sad that people outside of a small cult following seem to hate it.

The games are mostly RTP, and are grindy. But the maps are huge and if you love exploring and finding interesting treasures, as well as a large cast of characters,
and great combat it's amazing. Especially Laxius Power 3, which is probably the best cause it uses copyrighted content from other games and chipsets, making
it really interesting to play cause of the variety of encounters and graphics. You can also transfer characters inbetween games. The story is shit however, but the
vast open worlds and combat more than make up for it.

There's also The Super Ninjas, which also contains huge sprawling maps with plently of treasure and secrets to find and is a vast open world as well. It's also batshit insane, with the dialogue, especially NPC dialogue, being stream of conciousness like. Expect plenty of Real Ultimate Power references.

I haven't finished it yet though, it's pretty tough, with you not being able to grind for money and medicine being a limited resource.

ADHD: The Game, Not as obscure as the rest of these
>Cybercode Online: Text RPG
I guess technically not obscure, but I've never heard anyone ever talk about this. It's a mobile game that's sort of an MMO. I just remember that the enemies were all pop culture stereotypes like "Crypto Bro," "Catgirl," etc. Now that I think about it, mobile RPGs are in this weird spot where a lot of them have a metric ton of downloads but no one ever talks about them.

If you give it a try just keep in mind it's a RPG maker game that was released episodically starting in 2002 so it's a bit rough compared to what you'd expect from more recent indie games, especially episode 1 hasn't aged super well, but it's pretty short. For stat boosting, the angel cake event is what you really want. Get your main team up to crazy high attack/m. attack and you'll be able to grind EXP by wiping out the common enemies in a single auto-battle turn, with Hinahina involved for best results. Alternatively, you could try using Mia (with a lot of Luck boosts from food items) as Chief of Staff. She always starts with a spell that hits all foes for instant death and poison, which if the former hits, you win, and if the latter hits (on challenge bosses and even some top bonus bosses like Doggo, Hakumei, Abyssal Terra Tuna, the two lower Reiko Kaijus, Strongestsaurus, Frost God, and the Bakedanuki you'll be set up to use Deadly Poison, which is an auto-win if you can survive the four turns it takes for it to do the enemy's entire HP as slip damage. Note that the Bakedanuki isn't as strong as the others, but if you beat it you get 250K EXP, which I think is more than anything before the superbosses. Finally, Rain's normal mode is worth 65535 or more (depending on what morph you beat her in) if your stats are high enough that you can just stand there and whack her over and over again.

Bakedanuki's one of the gold enemies triggered by Sylpheed. It's in the summer island dungeon, in the boxed in island where you meet the weird lucky brown fairies.
For just grinding EXP without any of the weird stuff, Mia as chief of staff and "strong" enemies/black ghost sprites in the outdoor bath area should be good - I think those Diamond Shisa enemies drop good stuff, and the strong enemies there can drop the Elf Perfume challenge item that you can use to grind on an easy boss (Arv) that's also vulnerable to poison.

In no particular order for some actually unknown JRPGs:
Faye Falling, Ark's Wonder Dungeon, Makai Agito, Mirrored Soul (which is by a dev that frequents one of the game dev threads I think)

>>3784415
4chan nowadays isn't the greatest if you want to find truly unknown stuff. It isn't like the late 2000s/early 2010s where niche stuff bubbled to the top. The best way to find games is to just put in the effort to use Steam/Itch/whatever's tagging and curation options to dig past all the crap until you find the good shit. That's how I found the games above.

>virtually unknown to anyone

Here you go.
If you want to scroll endless obscure (most likely trash) rpgs there's a russian site that has some rpgmaker shit on it I'd never even ever heard of before.
https://small-games.info/?go=genre&c=79&s=220
just go backwards in pages at the bottom, there's a ton of rpgs that I'm convinced had under 3 people to ever play them.
I doubt any of the download links work but you can probably find downloads by names if anyone bothered saving any of them on internet archive or something.

I think the writing is immature and you should have the sense to not write about certain topics. But it is a passion project as I understand it so YMMV.

you have 1 mil debt and you can do whatever you want to pay it after the short colloseum tutorial. so far world is kind of open and combat is using skills based on what you equip including armors with cooldown system. i like things like each trader has different sell value for your items and fuckton of npcs you can bully + as battle partners with enough friendship

I want to ask a similar thing from OP, but more on the line of something like the smash bros for rpg, as in a game where different games/manga/whatev are put in a single game.
Most certainly it should be a fangame of some kind, anyone has any idea of something like this exist.

>a game where different games/manga/whatev are put in a single game.
Posting both mainstream and slightly obscure shit since it's so rare.

Black Souls uses characters from fairy tales and classic literature.
Super Robot Wars has characters from various mecha shows.
Kingdom Heart takes heavily from Disney.
Marvel's Midnight Suns uses capeshit characters.
There's that one Mario+Rabbids game.
Gachashit frequently collaborates with other games.

Fangames seem to mostly be focused on characters from a single franchise, e.h. Labyrinth of Touhou and 7th Stand User.

Never ever.
Basically Super Robot Wars but done by fans and not necessary for mechas.

Thank you for sharing that website, never stumbled upon it before. What a goldmine of obscure games, lots of stuff on here that I've never seen.

Another good site for finding obscure games specifically RPG Maker (mainly 2000&2003) games, is rmarchiv.de
It's a German site but easily usable if you don't know German and is loaded with classic RPG Maker games.

sadly you probably meant unknown, underground would be games like loli fantasy which are made by outsiders of any community, then you have other unknown game like pic related (mostly unknown by foreigners).

as most japanese stuff i doubt it since they don't rely only on the base engine but also on external DLL which some forget (take the guy that made loli fantasy, hears complains of issues but he ignores it because is mostly mobile fags that probably don't know what they are doing).
so as always use PC since is the best way to play RPG Maker games.

You're 21 years old girl stuck in dark fantasy setting. You are 5 times weaker than an average man, are constantly hunted for enslavement and don't know shit about the world around you. Everyone is going insane fast, the end of the world is approaching and you're a playtoy of
two godlike entities, one of which enjoys toying with your existence and the other simply wants you to do more carnage.

Your task is simple - pay for a boat passage and live a happy life on the edge of the world where the apocalypse won't catch up with you. Obtain a sister to keep you company as a bonus and maybe - JUST MAYBE - save a few innocent lives from fates worse than death. But you most likely won't. Cause you suck at the game.
