>>3789751I guess thecnically, except The Walking Dead sucks shit when it comes to playing a role. Lee is a predefined character with his own views and opinions and character traits, and therefore branching dialog makes no sense for him. Most of the choices you're allowed to make are complete nonsense.
Other predefined protag games like CDPR trash tend to suffer from similar issues. It's exceptionally rare to be able to make a GOOD roleplaying game with a predefined protagonist, because either the choices interfere with the established character building, or the protag has no character and at that point you should have just allowed your players to create their own protags.
On the topic of Telltale, the closest they've gotten to making a good game with choices was The Wolf Amogus, because most choices from there are somewhat reasonably believable for Wolf to make, seeing as he's a struggling ex violent criminal trying to rehabilitate. Silent options show him off trying to be stoic and serious, friendly options show him trying and possibly overcompensating in being a good cop, and hostile options show him relapsing into his old ways.
