Depends.
While it has some decent battles here and there most of it just throwing hordes at you.

To this day certain encounters can bug out (that Shadow guy in the Temple of Bhaal, many parts of the Crusader camp etc, the Endboss battle)

Writing-wise it depends how much tolerance you have for bad writing because you have constantly the authors politics shine through in the writing of SoD and eventually it gets tiresome.
The constant memberberry-shit also gets old fast.

All in all I found SoDs writing had many of the same problems as BG3 but to a much worse degree.

People keep saying this, but this isn't really Nenio at all. She's not quirky and weird. She's uncomfortably autistic and borderline retarded and the world reacts to and treats her with that lens. She's not glomping anyone or gigglesqueeing. She's a kind of retard that would test a deadly poison by using it on herself and hoping some passing stranger would revive her, which makes sense giving that she's essentially an information-collecting robot that progressively gained some sapience over time

She's not artificial per se, she's a former cultist of a demon lord who got her mind wiped and was turned into an information-collecting drone that eventually deleted the knowledge of her origins and developed something of a new personality.

That would be a pretty cool character concept if it wasn't all revealed in one of the worst optional dungeons of all time, and hardly hinted at in the main playthrough.

Oh by all means continue spouting some "no true scotsman" shit. Games are what they are depending on the group, your experiences are not universal, should not be universal, and thankfully will never be.
Anyone, on any side of this retarded argument, who insists there is a right and wrong way to experience a hobby explicitly about hanging out with friends and indulging in a bit of imagination-fueled roleplay needs to hang themselves pronto.
No matter how much you seethe at 'cringe' in the hobby, the retarded VAs sperging out on a stream and doing voices that put their entire professional success in question are exactly as valid as your group.

The old ones have charm, but are highly impractical.
I'mmamam asking about online play for a reason. If it's a thing, how come people still use cards or dices, instead of more sophisticated random variables? If a machine does the math, you can have better results than a 1:20 chance or whatever.
