Of all the games I have played, none quite scratch that itch like Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion, and to a lesser extent Fallout 3, Witcher 2 and 3, and Mass Effect have. Why is this? Any other game recommendations for a similar feel or quality? I know its popular on this board to diss Bethesda games and other popular games in favor of turn based and isometric games but turn based games are usually BORING unless they have multiple other good qualities such as good writing, characters, art, setting, etc. Any good RPGs that also have good gameplay?
The confusion you're having is that you don't like RPGs, so you aren't going to be able to ask people who do like RPGs to help you like something you don't like when they already like it. Just play games you like and learn to understand why you like the games that you do.

>Why is this?Easy to get immersed when you get to experience the worlds up close, as opposed to isometric. One reason for me at least.
You could give VTMB and DAO a try

These games have almost nothing in common besides being action RPGs.
>>3810301They all have something big in common in that they're good games with RPG qualities
>>3810240Isn't Dragon Age woke?
>>3810203All those games are RPGs by their very definition of "role playing," we don't need more elitism. They're all good games, no need to hate them just because they're popular.

>They're all good games, no need to hate them just because they're popularI don't hate them. I just recognize that if you don't like non-Action RPGs, you don't like RPGs. I'm not the one suggesting that the only good RPG gameplay is action based, and that strategic or tactical play is bad.
>>3810323I like many RPGs including Baldur's gate, Pathfinder, and Gothic. I disagree with the notion of separating
"action" RPGs from turn based or isometric RPG's without specially defining those as well and also treating them as if they're inferior while they offer a better experience. Tabletop RPG's might be closer to turn based and isometric games however the players experience and imagination tends to be closer to action RPGs in their perspective.
>>3810331Action RPGs are hybrid games. This can't be argued, they have action combat. They obviously must be delineated for people to find games they like, besides the OP is separating them already.
Sounds like you have some kind of "anti-elitism" chip on your shoulder and no real thoughts to convey. Ciao.
