Neither Japan nor the West portrays sex properly in video games.
Western companies writes whorish characters and the sex is trashy and emotionless. Japan creates proper emotional scenarios, but it refuses to depict characters having sex unless it's porn. Xenogears is the exception.
I think some kind of sexual encounters were implied in Ar nosurge+ (as much as you can have sex with a videogame character when you're not one)
That game just had better relationships in general though. It seemed like the writers had experience with long-term relationships and weren't retarded about them despite writing an otaku type game

If I'm remembering right the first dragon quest implies it happens between the hero and the princess if you sleep at a inn between rescuing her and returning her to the king.
