Should I get my Wii fixed, buy a new one, emulate or...?
I'm in a bit of a conundrum /vrpg/.
My Wii doesn't work too well anymore, it makes a strange crrrrr sound every time it spins a disc. I've looked up online and apparently it's because a piece of metal is grinding against the disc.
So I've thought about getting it fixed but it's expensive. I've also thought about buying a new console but I don't know if that's the best choice either.
I really want to play these GameCube classics but I don't know whether to get it fixed, buy a new Wii, buy a newer console and buy the games through a virtual console or just emulating.
Please help, any advice is welcome

Mod your wii and put the games on an SD card

I'm so scared of bricking my Wii, is it safe?

It's safe and pretty easy. I've been doing it for a while after my disk reader pooped out.

I think it's really easy, a buddy did it for me a long time ago. I think he just put in an SD Card with homebrew software and voila - now I have every game ever on my Wii.

I need a new sensor bar and Wiimote though. I wanna replay Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles. Easily the best Resident Evil game. So fun aiming with the Wiimote.
