>it doesn't end with pregnancy
Why isn't this more common? Why are devs afraid of kids?

And when it does happen, why is it only one or two children? There's no way my elven waifu would give birth to fewer than ten babies.

What time span do you think game stories cover? Doesn't Shadows Of Amn canonically take place over about six months? Including ToB it's like .... two years? But in-game you can actually complete the entire fucking thing in a few weeks?
Even Kingmaker only takes about five years, right? Wrath is completed in about two years because of the six month timeskip in the Abyss and how long it takes to accumulate the armies to clear the way to Iz.

And those are pretty unusual. NWN2 is only a few months, PoE1 is a few months, PoE2 is like... a few weeks? I'm not sure how long canonically, but there's a challenge mode that ends the game if you fail to get to Ukaizo quickly enough. Underrail happens over about two weeks. Fucking PokΓ©mon Red/Blue happens over about three months. Come the fuck on, now.

you can't go adventuring with babies and pregnant women. It would fundamentally change things. Imagine how pissed some people would be with losing a probably powerful party member for an indefinite amount of time unless you throw in some contrived bs like FE does or time skips

Timeline-wise it often doesn't really make sense in game. I don't really care for ending slides in general as it often basically just feels like someone else controlling my character and being retarded where things could have been vague, but I assume it's a symptom of laziness regarding those

Zoomers would lose immersion if they formed a family with their parter.

This by the way is also why all modern rpg:s include a dog party member.

Elves have lower fertility rates than humans and live for nearly a thousand years in FR lore. The cultural and biological drive to have as many children as possible as fast as possible simply isn’t there if your own lifespan is longer than most civilizations. Elves can take their time because they have the luxury of time.

Imagine *not* enchanting your battleslut gear with +3 Soak 15, Regeneration +3, Elemental Resist 75% (IIRC that's the highest allowed under the new rules), Death Magic Immunity, Poison/Disease Immunity, Level Drain Immunity, Mind Effect Immunity, Freedom etc.

And a prepped and ready copy of the spell. And it eats your spell for that round.
But to be fair, they have to succeed on the caster level test to dispel it in the first place.

Until they get their head lopped off by something. Just because you can live longer doesn't mean you will. Those creatures would be way fucking different if they were actually living out their full thousand year lifespans. Think of the most nazi shit imaginable and then multiply it by a thousand. That's how they would be doing it.

>Why are devs afraid of kids?
Millennials generation took over.
Yes, they are like that IRL too. Yes, it will reflect in the video games they produce.
Anonymous No.3828677 >>3828683

The real answer is that potential children complicate things for any potential sequel.
One would change the couple's whole life while no kids let the devs continue their relationship like nothing changed from the previous game.
Anonymous No.3828683
>>3828677
This can't be the reason, because the kids are usually absent in endings and pilogues too.
I suspect it really is a "millenial developer" syndrome.
