What time span do you think game stories cover? Doesn't Shadows Of Amn canonically take place over about six months? Including ToB it's like .... two years? But in-game you can actually complete the entire fucking thing in a few weeks?
Even Kingmaker only takes about five years, right? Wrath is completed in about two years because of the six month timeskip in the Abyss and how long it takes to accumulate the armies to clear the way to Iz.

And those are pretty unusual. NWN2 is only a few months, PoE1 is a few months, PoE2 is like... a few weeks? I'm not sure how long canonically, but there's a challenge mode that ends the game if you fail to get to Ukaizo quickly enough. Underrail happens over about two weeks. Fucking Pokémon Red/Blue happens over about three months. Come the fuck on, now.

Timeline-wise it often doesn't really make sense in game. I don't really care for ending slides in general as it often basically just feels like someone else controlling my character and being retarded where things could have been vague, but I assume it's a symptom of laziness regarding those
