I mean, the change in turn format alone should massively mitigate how damaging a flurry miss would be. Both the time it takes to ramp up flurry and the downtime when you miss should be drastically shorter theoretically.

Melee already be benefits greatly from throwing and special attacks, so I imagine it will be that. I imagine things like throwing nets or spear tosses will ground flying opponents. Wouldn't surprise me if the Yell equivalent has a similar function.

I was gonna just say some goofy shit like "relatively many of people are into having their balls crushed and that doesn't make it any less weird" but I'll entertain it with a little more sincerity.
Plenty of people, relatively speaking, have played any number of games in any number of wacky ways - from just speedrunning, to modding in a difficulty beyond even the highest, to blindfolded, to using a DRR mat or something. None of that has any impact on whether someone else considers the game enjoyable, just as your 'plenty' vibing with the ball-crushing equivalent has no impact on whether that Anon, or I, consider Underrail to be a mess only possibly enjoyable IF you savescum your way through it. Sure, filtered and all that, but I assure you we aren't alone in bouncing off Styg's bullshit.

I've got 1000 hours in Underrail but Styg has stinkydumb retard ideas about combining CRPG gameplay with time-pressure action (ie. Utility Tower, Eye of Tchort, serpentine graveyard, expedition raids) along with stinkydumb pain for the sake of pain that convinces me Infusion is gonna be unfun shit. Especially as he's spent all his energy going full autismmaxxx for his own new and certainly buggy engine instead of being concerned with making a good game.

utility tower is interesting, but i'm glad the whole real time boss while we're scuttling around doing the puzzle is a one time thing in the entire game. i agree with the rest, i think they're all pretty cool. sometimes i think it's good to set a different playing field and have the player get pushed out of their comfort zone.

Native graveyard and Tithonus lab don't have time pressure. I guess graveyard does if you fuck around, but if you don't loot every grave then the ghosts don't spawn so you can stay there forever.
Exploding barge doesn't count, it's impossible to fail unless you're actively trying to.

all of those locations work on the same feature of "you get fucked if you don't gook click fast enough through the location" which shows Styg's obsession with time pressure on cRPG gameplay. Fully expect Infusion to be the case of having 25 simulturns of action to clear a room of 12 enemies the whole way.

All he had to do was make a 1:1 copy paste of all the skills, items, inventory, crafting system and then work from there.

Balance changes to said systems, new maps, new enemies, new lore, better 2d sprites (maybe hd). Most players would be happy with that and he would save himself from a lot of work that could be used to add content and refine the already existing mechanics.

I like how the new crafting system looks. No limit on parts but they all have bonuses and penalties. Much better than the current system where most of the attachments are pointless because you only get two in total and some of them are obviously the best.

What are some tips for stepping into playing Dominating? I keep fumbling before even making it to Depot A, playing on normal is basically letting the game play for you compared to this.

The point is there's no real reason to spread weapon feats past the single one you'll be wielding all game. Having defensive/utility feats doesn't change the fact the game is designed around (intentionally or unintentionally) building around one specific means of dealing damage.
