That's about all it is. It doubles down on everything the first game did, which means the good parts get better, but the flaws are compounded as well. They added some crossover chapters to pacify the people who complained about how isolated the character campaigns were in 1, but they're really nothing special and pad out an already bloated game.
I think an issue that nobody really talks about is that each character has TOO MUCH utility. It feels like they were trying to appease people who complained about having to change their party to have access to certain skills (wasn't that the point of secondary jobs?), so now every character just feels like they can do everything and it kills the fun of composing a party.
