The problem I have with netrunner is there was some bug that caused me to constantly lose health after using overclock sometimes that can only be fixed with a save and reload. Ironically it was still so fucking easy that I never noticed it until after combat.

This is my first full replay of the game since it came out. Never touched any of the expansion stuff. I'm basically trolling myself in order to get mad when the game doesn't even recognize that I've completely eschewed cyberware all game and then the expansion plot goes "a bloo bloo, V was only a great merc because of his cyberware, look he is worthless and weak without it!"

It still makes sense that V can't really beat up someone right after coming out of a coma with no apparent physical therapy or cyberware advantage to make up for that, but it is kind of bullshit.
Still, the ending is just about turning down your chance to be a legend and see things through. If you think about it for 5 minutes, getting out of life or death work for a cushy government job is like the happiest ending any character has ever gotten in Cyberpunk.

I think Night City has its own culture, but it's also just a single city that purely exists for corpo bullshit. I don't think it makes much sense to focus on that point one way or the other unless the game actually took place somewhere else in the NUSA or some other country.
If there's a theme to Night City it isn't about what capitalism does to culture, but how all that flashy high stakes shit manipulates people into thinking it has something to offer them when all it ever does is chew them up and spit them out if the game wasn't already rigged in your favor.

Night cities culture is very superficial and alienating for people who aren’t sociopaths, which is the kind of environment it caters to exclusively. Normal people are chewed up and spat out because the environment is fundamentally “anti-human”, while Adam Smasher thrives because he never had much humanity to begin with.
