I never heard super mario world get called a beginner platformer but even then super mario world is harder than most supposed challenging jrpgs
Ttyd pitt final 20 floors is probably harder than anything in a ff game which all challenge is destroyed by simply leveling up which increases your stats too high or abusing your pretty much infinite items

I never said i wanted it to be some ultimate challenge, i would prefer least a baseline difficulty that keeps me awake which most jrpgs simply don’t hit.

See it quite a bit for persona 5 which yeah p5 is easy but like thinking back hard mode ps3 p5 had a few bosses that put up more of a fight than entire dq or final fantasy games lol

Extremely doubt it. Most newcomers in SMT for example when facing Matador wouldn't know how to buff or debuff enemies and get steamrolled. It doesn't help that most don't understand the skill names like what sukuna is

Smt4 difficulty is really bizarre, the ai extremely exploitable like when you notice that bosses only bother to use their strongest attacks when you use buffs the game actually becomes easier playing more stupid and like every other jrpg of just attack and heal

it's because you don't understand the terminology. nobody calls these games "beginner jrpgs" because they're easier or harder than others. a "beginner jrpg" is a game that you could show someone to give them a taste of what jrpgs are like without it being too overwhelming or "weird." if someone's never played a jrpg, you let them play something like paper mario or chrono trigger, you don't tell them to jump into some neptunia or atelier type shit.

You have to dismantle some bosses to even have a shot in combat. I stole everything from Pringer X, deleted his hp with a giantic catsaber/death fusion and sent fodder units to their death before I even had a shot at taking him down.
