I liked the first two cold steel games a good chunk. The tropes they started pulling on shifted, and I can see how that could annoy people, but CS1 and CS2 are pretty well made games with likable casts and plots. It's not until teacher rean where they start fucking with things too much.

With the exception of anything in calvard which I haven't played so I'm not going to comment on - they all have really good soundtracks. Sky, Crossbell, and Cold Steel have fantastic music.
