Every answer is a correct one because the way their world works, belief becomes reality. So no matter what option you pick at the end, it's the right answer because we're shaped by the things that happen in our life, it's never just one thing.

Yes but what is it belief in? After all if you keep giving enough people a fake name, that person with that name will manifest into reality because enough people believe he exists.

One day I'm going to do a replay where I make all the evillest decisions and utterly ruin all my friends' existences, only to find out the choice is qualified in some way to amount to the same thing more or less.

No, what is the correct answer is the one you believe to be true. Not just because of how belief works in the setting but because Ravel was asking that to so many people not as some hag trick, but rather as a test of character. She just wanted someone who would answer honestly from the heart, no matter what that answer is.

That would track, you can badly screw over at least 2 that I know of. I just haven't seen how it plays out. Another anon told me some evil dialogues, like specifically with Deionarra, if you tell her the truth, it doesn't have the impact you expect because she doesn't hear you or something.

The reason everyone says to build an INT/WIS/CHA character is because this is much less a fighty game as it is a talky one, and those stats give you the most dialog options. Besides, Dak'kon already has minmaxed stats for his monk build.

Did we ever learn why the Practical incarnation told you not to trust Morte?
Anonymous No.3846042 [Report] >>3846068
>>3846038
Morte discourages you from seeking answers past a certain point because it puts him in harm's way. He's not malicious, he wants to avoid violence, but he has to help you wherever you go. If you remember he's your slave, or even worse if you happen to be more aligned with Practical Incarnation this time around, he's expecting to suffer.
Anonymous No.3846052 [Report] >>3846068

Apparently Morte lied and got a previous incarnation killed because of it.

>It IS suboptimal but that's because spells are just retardedly strong.
No, it's suboptimal because it diverts stats away from dialogue unlocking ones. People don't pick mage for the spells.

Morte isn't your slave, and he isn't responsible for the death of previous Incarnations. The Practical one pulled him from the pillar of skulls after he claimed to have answers for him. (It's unclear if he knew him before, or after TNO's death.) He lost the memories of his life, and could not give the answer once removed.

Practical starts abusing a sobbing Morte, but even after Practical is gone Morte has a sense that whatever he did to end up on the pillar (You need to be be a liar, traitor, or sage steering people to evil to end up on it.) has to do with TNO.

TNO did something really bad before he separated himself from his soul. On account of him not knowing the relationship between TNO, and the one responsible for his condition It's likely Morte has something to do with his life, and how he ended up in hell.
Anonymous No.3846069 [Report]
>>3846038
Supposedly the Practical Incarnation was tricked into taking Morte from the Pillar with the promise of remote access to its knowledge, but when he did that, Morte couldn't remember shit but ACTED like he could. After a while, Practical realized that all he had was a wise-ass skull following him. So "don't trust the skull" doesn't mean "he'll betray you" or anything, it's saying "he's full of shit"

OP here, I was being facetious but that's literally what the game is saying. The game talks about the unspeakable crime TNO committed, and it's one of the few things Avellone has refused to ever clarify what it was he did, but the reality is the answer to that question doesn't matter. It actually could've been something completely trivial by our perspective, what matters is how it made TNO himself feel.

Is there any single thing people talk about from Planescape Torment other than what they heard the Youtuber repear? "What can change the nature of a man" is a quote used by Youtubers when they are marketing and selling this game, you immediately realize the person who repeats it is a poser who probably didnt even play this game.

Why do people do this? low self esteem and insecurity in their real tastes? pathetic.

It's literally one of the most important lines in the game said by a character you spend half the line looking for and she has asked the line to countless others with you being the first person to ever answer it satisfactorily.
So I must ask, what the fuck are you on about?

You sure? Nameless one's First Incarnation deeply regretted his action. Even the Second One chastises itself for evil shit it did if you pressure it.

Well it's obviously just a silly theory. I like it though.
The Nameless One had committed some basic bitch sins, utterly boring in their mundanity, but he was so convinced of his own excellence that he normal sins as being beneath him. No, his sins had to be worse than anyone else's, so grievous and wrong that it was simply impossible for him to repent. So he had no choice but to do an immortality ritual with a night hag. What actually ruined him was his own pride.
The vibe I got from the First Incarnation is that he sees becoming immortal as a bigger mistake than whatever originally drove him to it. Would he really think that if he had actually started the Blood War or something?

>Would he really think that if he had actually started the Blood War or something?
I mean we know it's not that because for one, he's not old enough and two, the BW was inevitable because demons and devils just can't get along. You can't exect CE and LE to shake hands and agree to disagree when one wants to murderrape everything and the other wants subtle control.

Anonymous No.3852008 [Report]

No, it made devils and demons more active on other planes, ever eager to drag more mortals and planars to the meat grinder. Celestials may say that Blood War exists for the good of the universe, but they do that to make themselves feel important. If the Blood War ends (i think it does canonically, or does it get restarted later on?), everyone will be better off except devils and demons who will turn back into miserable fucks who bitch among themselves all the time due to the nature of their evil alignment.

Nta but the game is filled with characters who lament over something they did that TNO has to ask why that's such a big deal and they act like the sky was falling but no one but them cares.
