The gba spinoffs got translations but nobody cares about the mainline games, they look like pretty decent FFT-like games, so where are the translation projects?

I see bland art and terrible, perhaps nonexistent art direction. Looks, sounds, and smells like slop.

There were translation projects long ago, but they all died off due to engine fuckery or lack of interest. The franchise has been dead for long enough that most people have forgotten about it, so I wouldn't count on any new TL projects either.

Yeah, I've always thought the same thing. Eventually I wouldn't be surprised if someone picked it up, but it always feels kind of random with series like this, that are beloved in Japan but barely known in the West.

(With rising development costs series like this really are just the perfect opportunity for publishers to remaster or do 2DHD remakes or something too. It's a shame how many just sit forgotten.)
