What I'm unsure of is Crowel's case, when Jack goes to confront Wilsen on the Moon, Crowel can't follow him because it's outside of Atline like the others, but by the time of Silver Tower she's apparently able to leave without issue, and I don't recall if a reason was given in Silver Tower

I saved Wilsen's explanation. Though it also based on Hans' deduction of the future. It's like they pictured the SEQUEL future, but in reality Heretics can be both men and women, while Wilsen's deduction of ''an inner sunlamp'' essentially only applies to SEQUEL males. In SEQUEL proper the females can only keep mana internalized and since Heretics can be both men and women, it could mean they are still in this step before evolving further into men producing mana and women using it better.
Both cases are still beyond the average Atline human though as they can't keep the mana at all. The moment they step outside an environment full of it they get paralyzed and eventually rendered comatose.
Atline doesn't even have the concept of mana affinity that SEQUEL develops, with some men being mages and some women struggling to learn spells. Their scientists were still in the trial stage. That said the women in the party do tend to stand out. Arknoah is one of the best mages, Jack's childhood friend has Rabi's super strength and Crowel is a shadow user. The latter two are NOT Heretics but seem to be evolving like the present women.

Arknoah used to roam around and cover for the budget/survival of Rabi without her being any the wiser, but gave up after the events of Blight to focus on matters elsewhere. I suspect she'll show up in a future game.

When you take the relationships into consideration as well, hakika says everyone else has a high likeability for Mana Tank, but most notably Maria, Lestea, Dita, Vyner and Olivia love him a lot too.
