Pick one combat perk and one exploration for each ranger, the cost rises exponentially. There's a third companion called Jodie bell you can recruit in the intro if one of your rangers has high kiss ass, barter or hard ass

Charisma is a pretty strong stat, the bonus exp and extra limit break gauge are very good. Having a tank character with the +armor trait and heavy gear is handy to just bounce machinegun fire off of his face. Be a gigajew with your money, there are points in the game where the next tier of gear becomes available for purchase and being able to buy some top tier weapons and armor is a massive boon.

I just started playing last month. Don't use weapons unless you have plenty of ammo for those weapons. It's always embarrassing when a ranger becomes a sitting duck because there's no more ammo to reload.

No. I bought it, tried to get into it (I got a bit over halfway in W2 before dropping, was on the second map), and I could tell from the character portraits that the devs were woke communist faggots, and so I refunded it.

Its generally better than the previous but it loses alot of the soul from the previous 2 games by sacrificing a ton of *realism* to be more like Bethesda Fallout.

Well they fixed the imbalanced stats from 2 which means there is no bad or good build, every stat is good now. The soundtracks are goated. I prefer the story from 2 but the game still has great vibes. It is more cartoonish

Since you already have it, just play it and just stop if you don't like it.
Just build a balanced party that don't use weapons that overlap (2 assault rifles is doable), has a medic, has at least 1 social skill like Kiss ass or Hard ass, Leadership is great and having higher action point count is also great.

Yeah i liked it, didn’t love it but it had its moments and i actually finished it which is more than most games.
Its a bit too silly, like robot chicken level sketches, and the combat system is fine but its pretty fucked in how its balanced.
Pretty much just deal as much damage as possible and try to one shot everything before they one shot you

the entire game was worth it for me as soon as i got the provost killed so that everyone else could live. He showed me the light in both games before i went scorched earth. The entire game had me steadfast in what i was going to choose for the obviously telegraphed ending but after he died in some random yet crucial battle i decided not to savescum and take everything to its individualistic end.

After all, i as the player character get to decide whats correct if im strong enough in the face of a literal test of strength

Only thing you really need to know is make sure each Ranger has their own specializations. Except for weapons mostly, no one should be doing the same things, and you can respec everyone or make new rangers whenever.

DLCs were so terrible, I recommend you disable them.

Definitely worth a full playthrough. The payoff at the end is great (hint: the ending credits song changes depending on how you go through the game... like as in the lyrics talk about various ways you solve problems, so *each verse* is specific to your playthrough's choices...).
- Energy weapons are expensive mid-end game stuff.
- You want people to be specialists in their area of interest
- That includes leadership / charisma, so just designate someone to be your team's leader right now
- Ignore shotguns
- Animals can be useful but they aren't guaranteed to be around

It's decent enough. Nothing exceptional about it (apart from the music). Good for a playthrough if you've already played everything that's great.
I will say this though, usually I don't care too much for the story, Wasteland 3 made me care.

They try to set up the Patriarch as the ultimate villain. They do this by le big reveals that tell the player he decided to squash an upstart clan that demanded *gasp* direct democracy. Isn't he a monster?
Or by selling criminals (political prisoners?) to the kite flying psychos for human sacrifices.
And then you've got Angela Deth, who takes issue with the head of the only functional state in post-apocalyptic US, because he did some morally questionable things in order to create said functional state.
In the context of the game's world, none of the objections anyone has about the Patriarch make a lick of sense... except Liberty's... who you can't join.

They need to start rounding up anyone who has ever written for a video game and putting those fuckers in work camps, with the exception of the Deus Ex and Arcanum guys, they're alright.

I like all the Wasteland games. INT builds for everybody for all the skill points. Having a high CHA guy with leadership is good.

They don't position him as some kind of "ultimate villain" any more than they do Angela, with most endgame paths leading to you confronting one or the other. He is more or less responsible for everything major in the story that affects the Rangers and their mission (sometimes directly, sometimes indirectly), but that doesn't make him a villain. In fact, if what you care about most is the Rangers and fulfilling their mission you're far more likely to get a good result by siding with him than with Angela. They're both meant to be flawed people with flawed approaches to illustrate the dilemmas of the setting, not "here's one irredeemable bad guy and one incorruptible good guy".

I think you're also reading the situation with the Dorseys wrong. The issue isn't just that he had them massacred because massacres are bad, it makes him partly responsible for the Rangers getting attacked at the beginning of the game because he created the situation to begin with.
So you have an ally whose pledge of support is all about his rule being secure and safe for his people, and then you find out that not only is it not anywhere near as secure as he makes out (since the Dorseys can openly attack and slaughter the convoy of Rangers) but a lot of that safety was earned by trading away his own citizens to a bunch of insane raiders to be horrifically tortured to death. So maybe now you start thinking "why do we need this guy again?"
In the end you can even find out that he didn't actually want the Dorseys massacred, it's just that after the shooting started he decided it was better for there to be no witnesses.

tl;dr the only unabiguously good leader in the game is my immortal God-President Reagan, death to all communists.
