ok it's not out but it will be out once steam stops sending it back for moderation
God, I wish Kremlin games hired some UI artists and a broken English to English translator.
>>2078953the demo had good-ish UI though
looks modern
plus the old games had soul
>>2078958why did he do it
WHY
>>2078960It's better but still not good.
Looks like TNO "gameplay" with workers and resources UI.

>>2078976well you can know see what increasing or decreasing spending does, and what are the consequences of a choice
I don't like that some are percentage based though, I don't like random rolls
>>2079930they picked that date so it would be after the sales retard, not steam
once it's approved they can pick whatever date they want
>>2079941This shit has been ready since June 16th. And I want it on my account YESTERDAY.
>>2079930Does anyone remember the original release date? (before they kept pushing it back again and again) This is clearly some Russian Commie trick so they can keep delaying it, the real question is do you think their sneaky Bolshevik minds will find a way to push it back again?
>>2080048no idea, I remember finding out about the rework months ago so when I checked yesterday I was just happy it was releasing soon
who cares if it's delayed, the demo shows the systems are there
>>2080053>who cares if it's delayedBECAUSE I NEED TO SAVE HIM
>>2080062I mainly want to shoot gorbachev
>>2080067The last thing wine spill will see are these asiatic eyes
>>2080067>>2080069I thought of a better one
>>2080067Remember... when you see "Sverdlovsk colonel", that's Yeltsin.
>>2080186What could they possibly have worked on during this time? There better be events coded up to 2030 to make this worth it.
>>2080188On that topic, what is the best way to purge all the undesirables? Is it as simple as replacing them all? I remember getting rid of Gromyko because he wouldn't let me carpet bomb Afghanistan but I'm guessing it is more complicated then a hoi4 style switch if I wanted to do all of them.
>>2080315Click the "More Info" button under their portrait. You're going to have to conduct harassment and maybe a conspiracy to send them into political exile. There's also a choice of conspiracy to switch their sympathies, as well as options to conduct training. Might want to check their ages, because Soviet Union is a gerontocracy, and most of these guys are on their death's doorsteps.

>>2086693we're talking about the super mega giga awesome remaster though, you useless shitter with shit taste
>>2079020Boomers really were retarded
two more days until a total repressive communist dictatorship is implemented and the west is destroyed
Seems like you can reconcile with China. Wonder if there's a way to just kick their shit in in a full on war and make them your vassal too.
>>2090026I don't think any of these games allowed that
Only to keep China from going reformist by assassinating Deng
>>2090285That's just Ostalgie. Refusing to liberalize in the original Crisis, you can get the choice to criticize China when they start to liberalize, and get the Tiananmen Square incident, starting an event chain that may cause them to lose Xinjiang and Tibet. That's about it.
>>2090285You mean reconciliation? When I went through the demo with Romanov I got an event about diplomatic relations that allowed me to pick between focusing on relations with one of France, China and America. Picking that I managed to roll the outcome where the Chinese start preliminary unofficial talks about mending Soviet-Chinese relations. I assume there'd be more events down the line where you have to jack them off until you manage to get them to agree. There's buttons to invite China to COMECON, the Warsaw Pact etc as well so I can only assume you can sway them to your side some way or another.
>>2090356Don't assume the demo will simply be the same with time limit removed. Check every button for new hidden conditions. The original game had an exception for China being in Comecon on the condition alliance management doesn't go above United, but Sovereign. No Economic Unification with China for you.
>>2090361make them join and then unify
the fuck are they going to do, break away? that's revolt and the army will be deployed to normalize the situation
>>2078756 (OP)>once steam stops sending it back for moderationredpill me on this

>>2090683the five year plan was completed ahead of schedule
Never played the original. God this game plays dull. Might refund after less than an hour. Does it get better?
>>2091000I mean it's a very specific game
if you don't like it why buy it, making choices and clicking buttons is the entire thing
>need to lower my government type to wannabe hippy soviet democracy to push through full OGAS

I have everything else maxed out and I rule by decree, if I say things are going to get automated they will
>>2091000Its an mspaint skitzobabbble soviet beurocracy sim, its not for everyone
>>2091296I see wannabe authoritarians are still idiots.
>>2091000>he can't appreciate late era soviet politic schizoit's just not a game for you and that's okay.
>authority is spent on everything from not surrendering to the Americans in every international event to the slightest bit of reform regarding the food industry
>Every event is locked behind the authority that you will not have to spend on it
Also China can suck my fat Romanov cock, Afghanistan is mine so fuck off. Just buy my oil and I'll buy your factory shit, stop being gay.
>>2091432Oh ho. No, China got nerfed hard from the demo. The good news is - you can trigger a civil war, and yoink all Tibet, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Hui and Manchuria.
>>2091438I genuinely do not want to do that, they can be Maoist or Dengist or whatever and they don't even need to be in Comecon or the Pact as long as they buy my shit and I can buy theirs. I do not care about Africa or Latin America outside Gaddafi and Castro respectively, I tentatively care about Vietnam but the Eastern Bloc and Afghanistan are the only ones important to the USSR's survival. North Korea also, they are cool. I also don't even know which awful army I should choose between Iraq and Iran, Saddam has the Left Nationalism thing going on but Iran has a great position. Do you know if you can commie coup the Iranians (WITHOUT CAUSING ANOTHER AFGHANSITAN, THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Is there a specific date I should wait till before courting the Chinese? When does the Split 70 cap go away?
Is it worth trying to fix the economy early or should I just try to keep the ship afloat until events get the ball rolling for me.
>only Kosolapov
Are there any more Stalinists you can get or do I need to sway everyone over?
>>2091472at least you have one to start with. I'm a few years in and I still haven't seen a single National Democrat.
fuuuck
everything was going well and then in late 1987 my economy just imploded. I'm not even sure what happened, I just burned through my entire reserve in a few months.
>>2091488Honestly it seems crazy that they included monarchists even as a concept. Not that I oppose that but the game starting in 85 really limits that kind of thing. Maybe a later start date but even then I don't see it.
Is reviving Bukharin's politics good as Romanov? The check needs moderates (which I get) but what else is possible as Conservatives? Can you change you politics? Romanov is described in game as a Conservative Reformer so it's such a leap as expecting the ability to turn Winespill into a Stalinist.
>>2091510*so it's not such a leap
>>2091444Stop LARPing. Money don't stink.

>>2091531No, he just does it after you pick Kosolapov. I dunno, if it's part of one of the events, but only Romanov gets it. It might be a hidden stat, since you can actually investigate the real alignments in the politics tab.
>>2091538That's interesting, Kosolaov is quite the effort to shape into being useful at the real level of power so having an established Stalinist would make that much smoother.

Shouldn't Volodymyr Shcherbytsky be a Stalinist?
>>2092154Compared to Romanov? Nah.
>>2092160From what I have seen of Volody it states he was a neo-Stalinist, I can see him as just being a hardline conservative but with Chernenko and Romanov already present I don't why they shouldn't include him as a Stalinist. Also what did Romanov do that was so Stalinist? All I have heard is he was a technocrat conservative rather then a return to the 40s type.
>>2092163That's just Ukrainian nationalist seething. In the twilight of CPSU, wreckers like Gorbachev and his ilk were deathly afraid of anyone who was against dismantling the Soviet system.
It's like current American politicians/newspapers shidding and farding and calling anyone and everyone they don't like a socialist.
I'm actually not sure what the devs obsession with Romanov is. Besides the fact that he was Gorbachev's rival and also a young cadre from Andropov, trying to reform the Soviet Union. But if your goal is based Fully Automated OGAS Luxury Space Gay Communism, he's your guy in every one of their games.

Romanov
md5: 202897904040737eb7117690429dbead
🔍
got to 2000 after a few failed attempts as Romanov. Throughout the game I tried turning myself into a Stalinist/Social Patriot and at one point had 100+ points in both, revived the Cult of Stalin, etc, and then somehow a few months later moderates dominated the entire political scene by 200 points and I just couldn't get back.
Won the Afghan and the Nicaragua wars, invaded and split up Iran after they lost the war with Iraq. I was gearing up to invade China (which was embroiled in a civil war) when the game suddenly ended. Wish the whole thing was paced better to make it a proper lead-up into 2000. The second half of the game has a lot less content than the first.
>>2092692>not banning opposing factions and subsidizing your own
>>2092695I changed a bunch of doctrines, took every option during events, etc. And yes, I had buffed Stalinists to unlock Social Patriots, then buffed those for years. A massive political power and secret service tax that made it impossible for me to afford certain event options.
>>2092692Yeah, there are like 3 events between '93 and the end of '99. I expected more.

Some of them have really debilitating maluses. Pay attention to those, enable autosave and reload in case you select something that turns out to be dogshit. If you do things right, economy and political power become non-issues in the second half of the game.
>>2092692just had another run as Grishin. This time I went full Pinochet (or so I thought), concentrated all power in myself and had a semi-market economy. I got to see Trump fumble the presidency into Ron Paul's hands and then I became the undisputed new leader of the economic, if not free, world. And yet the compass shows me I was no different from my attempt at being a social patriot. I don't get this thing at all.
>>2093003is there a way to have trump lose the first election to ron? for me it always elected trump
>>2093005in my game he won, did a bunch of random shit that pissed everybody off, and was then replaced by Ron Paul.
>>2093009yeah that's what I'm talking about that's how it happened in the previous version too
but you can interfere in the first election that triggers when you push US stability to 0 but it seems to always elect trump
>>2093011wouldn't be surprised if that election is rigged by the devs and Ron Paul just can't win. Trump's event chain is one of the longest ones in the entire game and is somewhat topical, they probably wanted to show it off.
>>2092987Lower corruption, make trade deals, raise competitiveness and industry stats. Also go for laws that increase revenue from an industry.

so far, China collapsed in every single one of my games. What gives?
>>2093165Oh, that's fine, then. You get a lot of bonuses to reducing Corruption and Forgery with that. You will still need to invest heavily into State Apparatus and Special Services, though. A lot of events require their loyalty and capability to be high.
>Three-Chambered Early Soviet Model>Soviet Democracy (go to one-party republic first, the above is blocked, if you go there directly)>total absence of censorship in media>independent art>independent prime minister>no personality cult of current leader>free national electionsI prefer Labour camps for the income, and State Ownership of Religion gives some absolutely busted bonuses. >>2093188>free market reforms lead to collapse in real life too sillyIf that was the case China would collapse and millions would starve when Deng did his thing. The actual reason for collapse is political liberalization which makes this game weird since they want me to retain planned economy while liberalizing which doesn't make any sense.

>>2094557With Stalinists there would atleast be an active attempt to resolve the situation, whether that would would work is debateable but the Conservatives would have had everything go to shit but keep it together with nukes and aks. We all saw what happened when the Liberals were in charge of "saving the Union".
>>2095092the great purges and etc werent wrong ideas conceptually. It just needed to be moderated and target the right people
>>2094866It's mostly just minor nerfs, rebalances. Territorial Defense no longer gives +50% to MIC income. You can select Adoption through Referendums directly, instead of going through the Party composition.
Atheism still not buffed, State Ownership of Religion is crazy strong.
>>2095105It was a classic case of a policy that need significant rework/reform being completely rebuked which lost any benefit from it ever having existed. Khrushchev should have moderated De-Stalinization so it did not dilute the party's authority (Keep Stalingrad but stop naming any new locations after him) and so all the energy you found in the late Stalinist era would be retained yet focused on more modern goals (battling corruption, enforcing social cohesion, underming nationalist discourse). The USSR bouncing between subset theories of Communism really exacerbated every issue.
>>2095105>It just needed to be moderated and target the right peopleAre you implying it needed to target the moderates?
Can you make a succesful Gorbachev run, even if you take him into a different direction?
>>2095199If by "different direction" you mean into the Moskva then yes.
>>2095199There is a Perestroika achievement. So, yeah?

Is there space stuff, like a Mars mission?
>>2095260Yes, you get science points for colonizing the Moon and building stuff there.
>>2078756 (OP)How are you meant to win proxy-wars here?
>>2095181Im saying that the policy should have been geared more towards anti corruption, anti liberalism and etc like xi jinping is doing. And should have not engaged in this weird trot-bukharin-zioneiv saboteur mass conspiracy.
In china, this style of purging is working. The anti corruption campaign in china has achieved a lot of succesful results. Without engaging in the extreme excesses associated with the great purges
>>2095148Deng showed the way. Xi jinping showed the way. The chinese showed the right path.

In the "Statistics", does the economy negative value refer to your overall spending?
So what's the difference with this game and the other CiTK type games in this series?
>>2096158It has a more modern UI than their best game (Mao) but worse economy system.
>>2096189the china game was simpler. This game makes me have no idea wtf am I doing. Which I guess is exactly how managing real USSR was like
I did my first playthrough as a conservative and lost in 1990 because my economy went into the shitter and radicals could not be tard wrangled.
I need basic pointers on what to do, what to invest in and what not, how wars work and that conspiracy decision in the politics menu.
>>2097272there are guides on Steam. Stick with conservatives or moderates for your first few playthroughs, you can branch out into others later (the hardest ones are informal socialists IMO).
on your first month, invest 80 into importing luxury goods. This will kneecap one of your negative modifiers (acquaint yourself with all three of them, they're very important). You can immediately remove that import next month.
investing into heavy industry boosts light and military industry. You can keep the latter at 100 most games, though probably not right off the bat. Invest into government to prevent corruption, you'll get all of the money back because clearing out corruption unfucks your economy.
>>2097272Always keep an eye on the economy tab and which sectors of the economy is going up or down. As long as they're high your economy does well. You wanna stack % increases for big money, otherwise neo colonialism can give insane amounts of cash.
Just get cash, reinvest where needed. Fund departments as needed, KGB is your friend
How do wars work and how much can you influence them?
>>2097585click on the yellow symbol near the war zone, a menu will pop up. The more boxes you tick, the more support you will send (and the more it will cost you in funds, special service strength, military strength, etc). Your scientific progress affects some of those effects.
>play libdem
>scheme and manuever until almost only libdems left
>congress is a mix of libdems, reformers, and moderates
>conservatives and neo-stalinsts decimated by late 1987
>finally allow free elections
>lose election
i guess at least the russian people are free :^}

>>2098080I liberalized and China still collapsed
>>2098091Huh... Okay, then i don't know. Maybe you need to sign the friendship agreement?
>>2094269I bought all of their games before. I'm waiting to buy this one after a few patches because i was really disappointed with Collapse, it looked like it was made in MS Paint and it had the most confusing UI ever, big stepback from their older games, especially since Ostalgie and Mao were very polished compared to Crisis in the Kremlin.
>>2098178Collapse was a dud
Didn't they quickly stop updating it
>party dismissal
...and how exactly do I avoid this thing? Specifically one day before it fires? Almost had a stroke after this thing just instantly killed me right as I was busying myself killing the Americans.
>>2099079Have loyal ministers, breh. Did you miss the conspiracy to send your ass to political exile?
>>2099105Of the top 15 guys only like 2 of them have less than 100 loyalty, and last I checked they had like 60~ on average. Did the event I get appear because of a conspiracy? I thought it was just a random or periodic one that existed more to let the player shit on the groups that he doesn't like.
>>2099113Yes, AI can start conspiracies. Yes, you can join them. One was likely started against you. It is NOT a scheduled event.
After playing this Mao is still their best game.
Do you think they will make a USA dlc? I was wondering what other nation they could make and I think it is a toss up on whether a smaller nation (South Africa perhaps) would be easier to make or whether a larger nation (USA) would be worth more comparatively. I personally hope for the US, maybe keep it simple with standard Democrat-Republican factions but with unique wings such as Buchanan vs Bush or Clinton and his Third Way. I was surprised but interested in just how much options you are given regarding influencing foreign politics such as Britain's Old vs New Labour and Germany's NPD.
>>2099193Yugoslavia is next. The devs really want to show off their war mechanics, I suppose. Also, China.
>>2099200I know it is different but they have already done Yugoslavia in Ostalgie and gave a whole game to China, I would be disappointed if they spent their time and effort on that again. Crisis in the Kremlin works so well for geopolitical chess that the US would fit it perfectly. What new gameplay would they even add to Yugo and China to make it different from before? Half the events needed for the US are already there they just need to switch perspective.
>>2099213>gave a whole game to ChinaIt actually ended in 1985, Ostalgie is just 3 years.
Giving The Great Satan a chance for a playthrough defeats the whole purpose of the game.
>>2099216>Giving The Great Satan a chance for a playthrough defeats the whole purpose of the gameYet you can play as Reformer already
>>2099221But the Cold War isn't invalidated entirely.
>>2099225I don't see how being able to play as the other side invalidates the cold war aspect of the game, it is what it is but I just think it would be fun and cool to play as the US aswell.
>>2099228>he used the f-wordStandard non-argument.
>>2099228USA or another major NATO power could be fun as a way to play through a different collapse of the USSR, ie, dismembering Russia.
They were apparently going to add Libya, Vietnam and Greece to Ostalgie but the dev got drafted. Would be interesting if they returned to those. Egypt, Iran or Iraq could be interesting as well for a middle eastern royal rumble.
>>2099153How come I can't see any conspiracies? I've even spent 50 political power to press this button and yet it remains the same, even after letting a month pass.
>>2099389There might actually be none?
>>2099433Guards! dispose of this reactionary traitor

>>2099433It says that there's at least one unknown ongoing conspiracy...
Well anyway, I managed to avoid getting deposed by starting from the last autosave and picking the option to criticize reformers, instead of doing nothing. I'm not sure how it works but that helped. Then I absolutely raped the whole world.
I just checked Gorbachev up to the latter half of 1986 and it seems like it's pretty much impossible to fracture even as him? Or at least there didn't seem to be anything that allows it. What's the method for breaking the union and going for Russia here?
>>2091567History tells us that the zero-state solution is the only path to peace
>>2099240You are not human and not in a FUN way
>>2099287I would definitely return to Ostalgie for those countries, I also think it would be interesting if you could collapse the USSR as the US but play it better then our timeline. Actually taking an effort to rebuild Russia and mould it to be Western ally. Of course if that is too much of a wholesome world peace path then you could explore the plundering aspect.
>play le ebil stalinist gromyko
>roll up everything, buckbreak usa, etc
>play as gorbachev
>I cant stop getting overthrown in a party conspiracy or by an angry mob of /pol/ users breaking into the kremlin
the economy is doing fine, general and spooks are loyal and im winning the cold war abroad but i just cant wrangle the retards
What are the requirements for the USA falling apart? Same for China, I'd prefer to just maintain the Eastern Bloc rather then be forced into world domination. GURANTEE OF STABILITY. TRADE WITH CHINA, DETENTE WITH AMERICA.
>>2099814From what I can tell it's all three of their stats falling below 10. After that they have an election and collapse if Ayn gets elected, revive if Donald does. If the latter then you have to lower their stats again for them to abandon NATO and being a world power. Then they just sit there like that unless you declare victory in the cold war.
Who knew that putting sanctions on South America would instantly destroy USA. Why didn't Gorbachev do that in OTL
Reminder you're not a true stalinist if you don't go total statefication into electronic planned economy, sovkhoification of agriculture and soviet democracy
