I guess I don't see what's wrong with the art style, it looks fine. I'm more concerned that the procedurally generated campaign maps will begin to feel samey and lack clear reasoning for a campaign. I mean Silesia's geography determined so many of the campaigns fought there, to replace it with a random map each time seems weak. Especially if your army has to stay in a single blob. Plus, the object seems to be to destroy the enemy army, which is not necessarily what campaign objectives should be in the 7 years war. We'll see, but with so few options, I'll probably still pick it up

Alright, I AM looking forward to it next month, the battles alone look very enjoyable to me. The FTL lite shit they got is pretty cool, think I'll main Russia and be a hoard of raiding, barely trained retards.

Not at all. John Tiller's titles were some of the first digital wargames, going way back to the 90's. He first became famous working for Talonsoft, then HPS, until he finally founded his own company (currently WDS). These games fall neatly between military simulation software and actual games, the level of research and documentation is pretty impressive. Most devs also have a background working as defense contractors developing simulation software for the DoD.
