A bunch of units are technically tagged as "Human" in warlords 3, maybe only in the patch, so I think they were meant as more generic units you could slot into many armies.
Like Scouts, Light Infantry, Heavy Infantry, Light Cavalry, Heavy Cavalry, Archers.
Scouts show up in a lot of different armies, orc armies, elf armies, dwarf armies.
Elves sometimes have Light Infantry in addition to their specific Elven Infantry.
Of the units in his army setup, I'd say Plague Carriers & Dwarf Mutants are the ones that are perfectly slotted in there.
Giant Bats are kinda generic for evil armies.
Giant Spiders could be an intended mutant or just something that was a good enough to represent the concept, presumably the same with Minotaur.
