My loyalty and happiness are both at 89%

The issue is that the "Available" thing is at -20, but this makes no sense. I have multiple cities close by with humans in them. Was I supposed to literally keep rerolling until I had a full on kingdom of humans one fucking pixel away?

Playing on version 69? Ive heard a lot of bad stuff about it, that its more fucked than even 68, the last one ive played, and even then the tech and general economy was bad, but i was able to get constant immigrants even in areas where my race wasnt present much

I wouldn't know what's wrong with it. The issue is just that I can't get human immigrants. I can get from the other races, but then that just...complicates everything. Then all of a sudden you gotta have different stuff and different houses and you build them homes but they'd rather be homeless for some stupid reason even when you assign it to their race, and you give them high priority at the job you want close to said homed but they won't take it...

I have no idea why I can't get more human immigrants it just says "Available -20"

Seriously though, is there nothing I can do? I am hard stuck at 300, and "Multiracial" cities seem like a fucking headache. I'm not big enough where I can rely on birthrates or strong enough to just ensalve people so i don't have to give a shit about their happiness.

So unless there's something I'm missing, it seems like i literally have no choice other than starting...again....from zero...

Diminishing rewards the game. Instead of having the classic gameplay loop of a game like this or trying to balace it in a smart way, the dev just nuked all the ways you can progress from a constant state of grinding.

It's annoying because I really wanna enjoy this game, but everything just sucks balance-wise. I wish there was a way to fix it with mods, but the only mods are shit like "quadruple production of everything"

Honestly, just the ability to change soil type would already make me a hell of a lot happier. I'd be able make all my farms in a specific place so I don't have to make a bunch of different stupid little farm villages.

I made a tilapi city, then when I got into a bigger battle for the first time, I found out that the dev nuked archery, which is supposed to be their main strength into being nearly useless, while they're also the worst melee fighters.

what is the meta when it comes to warehouses, do you make small satellite warehouses spread through the city like the dev intended, or just make a giant central one like in the good old days?

I make a central warehouse and smaller ones for maintenance/market stocks and sometimes crafting areas
Also for stuff that gets exported, I'm not hauling all that shit back to the main warehouse

>Small warehouse on every population center to hold all the shit for the food distribution stalls and markets
The only time you need a "central warehouse" is when you just started so you put everything on a single place.

You can use the settings when you start a game to reduce the maintenance and spoil rate and such, which makes the game sort of playable untill you need research which does not have a setting. If there was a 10 times research points multiplier setting i believe i would be able to sort of enjoy the game, but i dont have big hopes. It sucks because other games like this dont realy fit well with me, this is the only one i liked and it sucks that the dev is turbo-autisting so hard about making the game a pain in the ass for some retarded reason. If i knew how to make games i would make one like this one but balace it towards a nice immersive experience instead of grinding numbers and jacking off at excel sheets.

How are you supposed to produce food with Garthimi? They have the balticrawler breeders, but idk if I'm doing something wrong, but even if I carve out a huge area in a mountain, which takes forever, there's only 4 animals in there, producing like 8 food per day, while I'm consuming 50.

I've been doing some good progress with my new human city.

Only issue is, I'm not sure what to add next...now, the "next step" feels like it should be making pottery. But all the clay deposits are kinda far. I don't know how i'd manage to supply the village there with stuff.

Start building a real army to conquer weak regions, and be friendly with the rest, ultimately you want access to the market of a big kingdom if you want to make monies
I don't remember how it's called but iirc the treaty after trade deal gives you access to their neighbors
Pick a couple stuff you want to export and keep making more
You can't do everything because of limited nobles and tech, it's better to specialize

Bro, I don't even have clay, much less an army. I haven't set up any "military quarters" or "research quarters".

My current issue is that I need pottery and clay to do stuff. But the clay deposits are distant. So I don't know how to make sure said village gets supplied.

Depends on how far away the deposits are. If thay are out of range of your facilities then best thing is to build a mini city for that deposit and to handle resorces with large scale transportation

I have cretonians in my amevia city doing cretonian stuff, they have their happy wooden round village near the fields, but they also get the cooking jobs and the ones working in the main settlement regularly get murdered by the amevias

How tf do I increase the happiness of my human guys? I give them two sets of clothes, 1.5 rations, plenty of bread, stone houses. They have access to all the services, but of course they're not upgraded so that means it's shit. But I can't upgrade my damn services without research. And for that I need more immigrants to man my workplaces. Which require happiness.

How does making armies even work
>Build a training ground, set to max, have like 50 people which is enough for one unit apparently. Workers train until like... 1 of them is trained, then all of a sudden they stop while 49 still need training

Depots only work when your army is on the world map to send them supplies, just keep your military supplies in a warehouse nearby

Yeah I think pigs are best in temperate climate, if you think they have bad production maybe you built them on bad soil? Pastures are better on the richest soil, they have a huge bonus to moisture so you can build them in places with good soil but far from water. Just check the tooltips on one of your pasture to see the bonuses

I hope the dev hits 1.0 soon, mechanics changing every version is super confusing

Raiders tend to have real armor and decent training, you need to put everyone in squads and overwhelm them with your shitty militia until you have dedicated full time soldiers with good training

Nowhere near since you only need 3-4 people for a grain farm of that size and need a lot more for the other food sources
Grain to bread is still a lot more efficient with manpower as well.
Hell, you can even throw in the wood choppers for your wood uptake and it's still not close

Same amount of food by any of the other means, 12-14 people
Grain uses 1/6th of the land and almost half of the manpower

It might be that he's trying to go for the "accuracy" angle. Europeans ate roughly a kilo of bread every day prior to the industrial revolution. Grains became so dominant because they were the easiest solution to feed the masses.

The issue with that accuracy is that it also doesn't work with the way the game is made. Do you think that farmers had a kajillion mini cities with temples, bathhouses and markets on the edge of every teeny tiny farmplot that could feed like maybe half the population of said village at full capacity?

The fact that moisture results in low fertility is also insanely stupid. Does he think that the land around the Nile was desert or something?
