Fauna's design just looks more colorful/visual complex, but not much of "jumbled mess." Her hair, horns, floral decorations on her outfit (and its shape) all represent the more Sping/Summer side of nature in a flowery sorta way. Guess there bare feet aid in that somewhat and I don't really think much of the apple since it has as much presence as Bloop did
The cogs keep the midsection from looking to plain are consistent in shape with the belt holes and other highlights, accent wise. I guess they could thematically represent civilization's advancement in some way. Especially it normally takes more than a single cog working together to achieve some greater working sysrme... or something like that if you just wanted to be deep about it
