What can we do? Just like what the Singapore's PM, the most honest politician in SEA says, be prepared. Cut unnecessary spending, be frugal in general, don't take a loan unless it's crucial, stuff like that.
Actually do the reverse and the chance of crisis happening will be smaller, but you'd be fucked when it's really happens. I just realized why ID market doesn't have a significant gachikoi culture, because we are poor.
A poor country has low social mobility, if you're born poor the chance you die rich is very small. Contrast that with Japan or USA, your pathway to success is everywhere if you try hard enough.
It's causing our culture to accept social hierarchy as a rigid thing, that our chance to marry someone of difference social status to be small. So we are more accepting of our idol interacting with other males because they're unattainable from the start. It's not "cuck" thing, but a wider social-economic phenomenon.

We have JKT. JKT has many gachikoi, yet they are still able to penetrate the local mainstream scene. Ordinary people can still enjoy them without need to understand or engage in the discourses about gachikoi vs non-gachikoi, normies or the real fans. This applies similarly to Nijisanji & Hololive in Japan, though there is one correction to note: the fact that gachikoi still remains as subject of mockery there, particularly in the idol, VTuber, e-celeb/e-girl, and streaming scenes. It just would be strange to think that "gachikoi" could be free from public insult when the term itself evolved from there.

Also, if the lack of gachikoi culture due to socio-economic conditions in Indonesia, the same thinking way can also be applied to explaining how gachikoi came to exist (especially in Japan); that is, because of the social life conditions there that led them to seek escapism, one form of which is with becoming simper and gachikoi.

The fact that they have more public facilities and infrastructure, as well as a better-maintained environment than in Indonesia, makes me even more confused about how they choose the cheapest access (the internet thing) as their last resort for something they are most dedicated to. If it were me, even if I didn't have any friends or a girlfriend, I could still do anything other than become a gachikoi—it's even worse if it refers to something that is unreal/too far away like vtubers.
