Basic lore rundown because we all know Biboo is /here/

>Nightreign is a alternate universe where the Nox succeed in bringing forth the night, something they failed to do in base Elden Ring
>The Nightlords each find a piece of the Night which allows them to command the Night
>The giant beings that are walking in the background are the Night, the ghostly ones are from different timelines merging
>Heolstor's first phase, The Shape of Night, heavily resembles them
>Defeating Heolstor frees the Night from the Nightlords control, and after being touched by the grace of the Erdtree the Night decides to leave
The most important thing is that this game has no connection to the events that happen in Elden Ring. So unlike Biboo's theory, nothing that happens in Nightreign is connected to Ranni. However it is possible that Heolstor was a knight of Caria, who was defeated by Radagon during the war, which is why he has a sword similar to the Moonlight Greatsword. But that's just a theory and not part of the actual lore

There are supposed to be enhanced Nightlord fights coming later this month. Apparently the files for them are already in the game and someone made a mod which makes them playable and they seem pretty cool.
I've only seen the Adel one but the one move I saw had Adel summon a thunder vortex which requires everyone to use a spirit spring to jump into or they'll get hit by a massive room wide attack that I assume is an instakill

I think a lot of it comes down to which bosses would fit with Nightreigns gameplay style. Any gimmick boss would be tough to add, and some bosses just don't really feel right for the big day end bosses. If I had to make a list of each boss that could work it would be something like
DS1
>Iron Golem
>O&S
The demon bosses are all kinda slow with limited movesets, but they could work as field bosses
DS2
>The Pursuer
>The Looking Glass Knight (summons those dark Nightfairers)
>The Lost Sinner
>Old Dragonslayer (solo Ornstein)
>Darklurker
The Ruin Sentinels are pretty similar to the Crystallians, so they could work as the boss of a Ruin
DS3
>Abyss Watchers
>Pontiff Sulyvhan
>Aldrich
>Old Demon King
Gundyr could work as a field boss too
Also any boss that uses mechanics that aren't in Elden Ring are most likely a no-go. So any boss that uses stuff like Dark Magic isn't getting in because that doesn't exist in ER.
