Opinion: Is Nijisanji's new "stealth termination"/unpersoning strategy actually working?

Gauging the board's reaction (much less reaction outside the board) to terminations in general is a highly subjective thing, but I think many regulars can agree that termination announcements made by Nijisanji in the past have drawn lots of intense reactions. Even for terminations of lesser known talents, such as Sayu's, made the board nigh unusable for a considerable amount of time -- especially if the cause of termination was deemed controversial.

This time around, Niji seems to be taking a different strategy with Twisty. They're removing evidence of her activity and existence, but without explicitly making statements about the status of her contract.

Surprisingly, this seems to be having the intended effect. At least on this board, there's not a lot of discussion about Twisty's effective termination. Her contract is basically done for, but since the corporate itself refuses to talk about it, the discourse has shifted from her termination to her post-Niji activity. In some ways, Niji have silently shifted focus away from WHY and HOW she was terminated, and towards WHAT she will do after termination.

Now, it could be argued that prolonged silence in itself could be an attention grabber if sustained, but we don't know for certain. If Niji keeps up the silence until everything fizzles out, we might be seeing the establishment of new norms when it comes to terminating controversial talents.

I think it will say more what they do or don't do with Aster. They haven't wiped him from existence yet; but if unpersoning is their new strategy, then perhaps they will do so silently in the night one day? Hope we just forget about him and this all blows over?
The thing is they'd be contradicting their own statement about doing a full investigation and notifying the public of the results. That really doesn't look good on them. I don't think the shareholders would appreciate it either, assuming they were to pay attention.

There are 6-7 threads about Twisty or Aster on the catalog right now, several of them explicitly mentioning the (non-)termination. There would probably be even more if the board didn't bleed like half of its users.
In the time since the Selen Shokku, it feels that fans have become somewhat graduation fatigued, given how many corpos and indies burnt down last year and this one, and made more aware of black corpos and their behavior. Selen's case was more shocking because of her "attempts" too, and she wasn't as controversial a figure. Zaion was seen as more "problematic" to some and had the community split, unlike a more "pure" martyr like Selen that they could easily rally behind.
Unfortunately Twisty's impropriety has caused nijisisters to use it as a foothold to attempt to discredit her and defend Aster. Of course, if by some power Aster ends up coming back, they will say that he did nothing wrong and that it was all the machinations of the menhera witch.

Nijisanji is in a position like the president once said he was. They could literally shoot one of their EN livers in the head on air, and while they *might* lose some of the fans of the one that they shot, that'd be about it. I'd be willing to bet their stock would be fine as well. I don't think they even put EN's earnings in the quarterly reports anymore. They got away with attempted murder with Doki. Regarding the video of the tour of the museum that I posted the other day, the director of the Yashio Hihokan pointed out the following on his blog:

- I interviewed without permission
- I recorded audio without permission
- The manager's contact was rude

I would like to explain my understanding and the circumstances of this matter after consulting with my agency ANYCOLOR.

- Regarding the matter of interviewing without permission

Regarding this, the director said, "I think he is active on YouTube," "If you intend to make a video, you can do so (as he is a photographer, commercial use is possible if it is a video, not a photo)," and "There is nothing to hide, so you can film anything," so I took advantage of his kindness and filmed the video.

The visit itself was within the scope of my hobby, and I went there with the light-hearted intention of making a video if I was given permission to film there. As a result, I deeply regret that I did not give enough consideration or explanation in advance, which led to confusion.
We also told the director at the time that we would not have filmed the event without his permission, and that we would have simply observed the event.

- Regarding the unauthorized audio recording

We started recording the audio after the director said, "As a YouTuber, shouldn't you start filming now?" We did not record or use any audio before the recording.

In addition, the blog states that the director "hid his smartphone," but that was not our intention at all.

The director's friend, who was also present, said, "You can't show your face, but you can make your voice," so we held up our smartphone in front of him and filmed the event, which we used in the video.

However, we are very sorry that the director was left with the impression that he had been "recorded without permission" and that he was uncomfortable.

- Regarding the rude contact from the manager

Below is a brief summary of the relevant exchanges.

The director released the second blog (no prior notice about this)

After that, her agency ANYCOLOR asked her to "please consider deleting any parts of the blog that may lead to personal information," which is what led to this matter.

Due to the nature of Vtubers, we sometimes ask for consideration in how information is handled, and we would like to apologize again for the discomfort caused to the museum director and other related parties due to our insufficient explanation.

The video in question is currently private and we are in the process of cutting out the parts related to Yashio Hihokan, so we would appreciate it if you could wait for a while until this is completed.
