It does seem odd to hire professional cosplayers when there are ones presumably willing to do it for free (or at least a lot less than the professionals). I seem to remember last year seeing some phasefag saying he tried to speak to one of the Phase cosplayers and she didn't even really know who she was dressed as. I've briefly skimmed her twitter and there don't seem to be a huge number of pics but it's not like she's some hideous hambeast - there's another actual phasefag cosplayer I've seen pics and vids of dressed as pippa and presumably she wasn't hired either despite beinf pretty attractive.
