People have said that the drawthreads were slowish like this when the board started in 2021.
So I guess they peaked in 2023 and early 2024, I guess?
Botfag started with his bullshit around May last year (24hr thread patrolling and spamming), which was nail one in the coffin for these threads, and towards the end of his reign of terror this year the site was hacked, which was nail number two. The entire board suffered greatly after that happened.
It's just crazy how bad it is now, how slow it is. If vtubers are still popular, where did all the artists go? Because they are not on the other imageboards either.

I've just realized I don't really care for vtubers that much. They're just easy to draw to get interactions. Fans love their oshis, chuubas like attention and cute drawings of their sona. It's an easy "fandom" to get into and to practice drawing. Suffice to say, the designs are as, if not more original than a lot of anime/game characters. When you don't feel connected to the streamer however, it can get daunting, like you want to feel that same passion and excitement that the people commenting exude. So when I don't feel like any vtuber or fan will be there to appreciate my work, why bother? I'll just draw an oc or some vidya characters.
