but I just do not plain expect her to stream much unless/until she proves it. and that process will take a long time, like 6months-year+ of consistency for me to start to think "ok maybe she just isn't trying to ride out the debut honeymoon period"

Jesus Christ I took Graduation etiquette for granted 4 years ago when Coco graduated and just chose to be an entirely new character.

At least Ame tries to be something new. All the girls who graduated from Hololive in 2024-2025 have had LITERAL reprints of their old models, Chloe with the same model artist, Fauna returning with "Naplings", Gura with the Gura hair and fish theme, Aqua who is literally just Aqua. Graduations really are dead and lost their meaning.

Graduations were always worthless and had no meaning.
The only people who benefit from graduations are the corpos themselves. It doesn't help the girls' career in any way. If anything, it actively hinders them due to suddenly having a gap in their resume.
There's nothing wrong with continuing to give your fans what they want in a better environment.

Graduation was supposed to be preparing the talent for the "Next Step". All of the late 2024 and 2025 Graduates (with the exception of Mumei) have all redubutted as literal TNA-versions of their characters.

If anything, It was the talent, who literally saw what Dokibird was getting (not even Doki's fault) , and said they could speedrun the same thing. Gura and Fauna callously created a precedent that, not only shit on their colleagues, but also ruined the bittersweet connotation of "Graduating" by going "pied piper" and dragging their fans by intentional design cues or decisions.

The next step in this case is to continue their career outside the company.
It's the company's job to encourage the talents to stay in the company for its benefits. If the company is no longer providing enough benefits to entice them to stay, I don't see the point of sticking around. In the end, they're all individuals working on their own lives and careers.

Take Fauna for example. She clearly wanted to be able to sing, etc. but the cost of being forced to constantly travel to Japan to do anything in 3D was clearly a problem for her. She had a music video with Mumei she spent years trying to release which constantly got delayed or set back by the company. She wanted to play games on stream but was constantly told no due to their incredibly slow and finicky permissions system.

The company was simply not giving her any benefits she actually cared about that she couldn't find on her own. So why stay? Her strengths were solo streams and chatting while playing obscure games, and Holo was actively hindering or preventing her from doing so. Hell, after leaving she was able to release multiple covers and prepare her own 3D concert to sing and dance in that didn't require a trip to Japan. She's released more covers in a few months than she's done for her entire career in Hololive since she didn't have them bogging her down with paperwork.

I don't see the point of crippling your own career just for the sake of a ceremony that doesn't help you at all.
