What you need is what Ame and Mumei did, make a comfy environment, be just a tad quirky, have some interests that men have (punk rock/ska and video games in this case), and just be around maybe minorly suffering due to life and the world which is relatable. The more comfortable you make an audience the easier they let their emotional walls down, and once that happens its really easy for people to get attached.
