To be fair VShojo and Senpai Squad have always been together. I assume SenpaiSquad has better capabilities for frequent moving of merch around to take advantage of con season and they partnered with VShojo back in like 2021 and have worked together at literally every convention VShojo goes to. Them being here is pretty much the same as VShojo having a booth.

Last year Hyte was the Dokibooth. Her pc case will probably be there too since apparently it was so popular they brought it back multiple times.

Though one of these days I half expect to see her at the bamco booth. The official bamco account is often in her chat because she keeps streaming the weird debuff games that nobody else will like Sandland or Synduality. They even put a little skin of her in the latter.
I swear she's had like 5-6 bamco sponsorships in the past like year and appeared on the official bamco youtube once or twice as a caster for something.

There is no vtuber company booth, is OP's point.
Plenty of booths selling vtuber merch, but no Holo booth operated/rented by Cover, no Phase booth, no booths for any Brave Group agencies, etc. The Senpai Squad booth may effectively be a Vshojo booth wearing Groucho Marx glasses, but it is not officially a Vshojo booth.

Obviously there was never gonna be a Niji booth this year, but that's probably besides OP's point.

AX is the biggest anime-focused mostly corporate ran event outside of Japan Expo. It's got a bunch of corporate panels, advertising, and announcements. How none of these companies that have anime at their roots are here to promote to general anime fans is crazy to me.

A lot of Western "anime fans" are just Redditor types who latch onto anything popular, in this case FotM Crunchyroll dubs. They will invest in anything really cool and trendy that's put in front of them. Vtubing has the opposite effect of scaring off anyone who sees it, it's like the new MLP.
