That's literally what I said. YouTube Chat is basically nonfunctional and a huge memory hog so I close it most of the time. Twitch wins there in functionality but don't even pretend YouTube emote spam is anywhere near as obnoxious. For one, specific YouTube channel emotes cannot be used globally.

It's shit, and twitch removing highlights was shit because I like rewatching older vods all the time. Now you have to rely on someone actively reuploading all vods which not everyone does. Plus if I'm already on twitch I don't want to keep jumping back and forth between twitch and YouTube.
One thing twitch does do better is video quality but that hardly matters most of the time, we're not exactly watching movies or anything. Because Twitch killed watch parties which were their best feature.

They've effectively lost a gen worth of people this past year and would have known about it with plenty of prep time, so skipping an EN debut year this year of all times would be a wacky choice.
Plus honestly I don't buy the narrative that new debuts are strictly bad for existing talents. Competition, yes, sure, but the hype cycle bringing in new fans seems, to me, like it lifts all boats. New debuts are an entrypoint for newfags into the fanbase who then convert into box fans.
