Nobody is beyond redemption, this cycle is what's driving you to act in a way you dont like. Find things you like that you can do alone (crochet, felting, whittling, model-making) and do it. If you mess it up, do it again (better if its cheap to start over like getting some more wool/yarn/wood). Once you're alright at it you can make things of other things you like and that can be even more rewarding. If you really dont like doing things with your hands make a reading list and meet some goals that way, or write although that one can be a lot tougher. If you have something that you can be proud of, it makes the things you're not proud of easier to bear.

My personal experience with needing reassurance has to do with anxiety. I dunno if its universal that the two are linked but there are a lot of self-soothing techniques for anxiety. Heck, you can recite a mantra to yourself about your favorite loli-tuber and it could help as a self-soothing thing if you want to not feel like a dumb zoomer for doing the FOTM stuff
