I get it, I like concerts too. But there's a lot of tradeoffs. Tons of organizational energy, money, resources, and the vtuber has to spend a lot of time practicing for them which means less streaming. If the bulk of your audience is there for streams, and you spend all that effort to release a concert that's a wet fart and nobody cares about, you've screwed up.

The garden wall approach only works when you are top of the food chain of the industry. Vshojo held the monopoly on Twitch for sometime, everyone wanted IN to feel apart of that specialist group. Their cut is probably higher if you compare to an agency outside of VTubing (10-20% commision fee on gigs taken by talent is the standard in the west), but good for VTubing.

The thing is more that I don't think agencies offer much value. If we look at Indie VTubers right now the gap, between Indie and Agency/Corpo-backed has closed quite significantly.
So the value an agency offers is a lot lower compared to the past. A VTuber who thinks they can self-manage has little reason to stay with an agency.

The tech, the merch connections, 3D studios, concerts. All of it is fairly far into being democratized by this point. Not everyone can self-manage, but a lot of if not all VShojo-EN talent come from a background where they did, and thus they know they can manage themselves.

In short I think VShojo was the foundations for Phase in a way. Some of their talents like Lumi and Lia have openly stated they're inspired by a few of them. VShojo in 2025 is so far away from what people originally thought about "The VShojo Identity" that it's almost strange to hate them unless you find Ironmouse to be slimy or annoying or whatever.
Phase seems to be one of the only corpos that started small but has survived and gotten bigger. When VShojo was founded all their main members were 4views. Phase is actually growing so much that I watch them less because there are so many talents. One thing I thought they did well was slowly introducing new gens and the Invaders thing is a good idea too since they bring in existing audiences rather than cannibalize previous generations.
I can't speak for everyone but it feels like VShojo has gone from a friend group to Ironmouse's company of random nepo-hires who hardly stream. Zentreya seems to stream a lot if you're into that sort of thing. Henya is cool and cute and sexy, but she's the only one I would watch nowadays. Geega and Matara leaving shouldn't raise suspicion, they probably just wanted more money elsewhere.

If anyone here is actually curious about her reasons for leaving and isn't just fishing for drama then I both watched her stream and am a regular viewer of hers so in short:

She's the type of person who likes doing her own work and being involved with it every step of the way, so she felt like they were slowing her down because there was now an extra step inbetween her and something else she was doing. Which makes sense to anyone who's watched her because she's big into doing tasks and organizing and the like She even took a moment to talk about her much-fabled "get everyone in VShojo to use a fucking Google Calendar" plan, that failed after Mata kept putting things in on the wrong dates She even mentioned "waiting 8 minutes later for a response" when talking about her frustrations because if she did it herself that extra layer of time wouldn't have been there. VShojo's management is too hands-on for someone with her level of micromanagement autism, and if that was the group's biggest advantage then it didn't make sense to keep being around.

And yeah that lines up with what anyone who's watched her has seen. This is the girl who started playing GTA RP to join a gang and become their accountant and look at spreadsheets all day offstream to better minmax their fictional money lmao.
