NTA but I can chime in on this. First of all, I like Gura I think she was very cute and has one of the most pleasant speaking AND singing voices ever. It just a pure bliss to listen to.
But...I think the vtubing doesnt really suit her as an entertainer. She is good for a few streams here and there, some shorts/shitpost videos, memes just like in the old days "pre Gura" and thats it. She is just not someone that can talk endlessly and keep the audience engaged and she admitted to it herself. Twice so far, while still in hololive, she said that she is running out of things to say and once she said I gotta take a break to do things just so I can have something to talk about. This was in her first year in Holo btw.
I think her whole shtick got reduced to "exclusivity" which is made a lot of people frustrated. You make your fans miss you so much that they are hyped no matter what you do when you come back. If that wasnt the case, people would get bored of her fast and Gura would lose that "legendary" vtuber status which is obviously bad for the entire brand.

I meant to say FULL time vtuber. Like she is not someone that could constantly stream 4-5 days a week for months.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone else feels similarly. I've been following a lot of VTubers for a while now, and while I used to really enjoy Gura's streams, I've honestly found myself tuning out more often than not recently.

It feels like the content has become a bit… repetitive? I miss the variety they used to have, and it feels like they're sticking to the same few games or topics. Also, I've noticed the energy seems a bit lower, or maybe it's just the humor not landing for me anymore. Sometimes the interactions with chat feel a bit forced, too.

I know they have a huge fanbase, and I'm not trying to trash them, but I just haven't been able to get into the streams like I used to. Maybe it's just me, or maybe I've outgrown their style. Has anyone else felt a shift, or am I just being overly critical?

Most vtubers are forced to work the algo. And algo makes you always pick the most FOTM shit ever so everyone plays the same games.
Also because of their policies, they have to be careful of what they talk about in order not to alienate any group of their audience. So you get the most basic girly talk, food talk, and shit like that.
